GROWING PAINS #3

in #cannabis8 years ago

Hi steemians! Just wanted to post another thing for a grower to be careful of. Last nite i was looking at my KAndy Kush and was in awe looking at her stacking. I reached over to get a whoof of that Kandy goodness and then i heard a snap! I was sad to discover that i snapped a kola of my Tahoo og x og...

It was going to be a nice bud😢 oh well just got to remember to be careful around my lady’s.
Besides that everything is looking great! It’s getting nice outside here on the central coast of cali. Temps in the 70’s all week!! I’ll be lowering light time in flower room to a 18/6 to get some nice clones ready for outside!! (Maybe) lol

Tell me what you do to get plants ready for the transition from indoors to outdoors. Cause In the past I’ve had my 24 hour light cycle plants go outside and they bud with 16 hours of light or less!! I was unaware of this at the time but this season I’ll be ready!!

Here’s a couple pics of my Tahoo og x og outdoors from last year...

Hope everyone has a nice grow season coming up! Until then everyone stay positive 👍🌱🌳

She's gorgeous. Great job raising her!!

It's a very good question. First, you really should be using 16/8 or 15/9 if your aim is to outplant them. Anything over is too much light and your plant will start flowering outside no matter what. Then she will reveg and she'll never look pretty again.

The proper way to do it is to keep her on the above mention photoperiod and slowly harden her for outdoor conditions by bringing outside for 2-3 hrs in the beginning. If you see sun stress, put her back inside straight away. If you don't push it to 4-5 hrs until she develops "a thicker skin" and then just leave her outside. The best period to do it is usually June/July.

You can also sun dep her if you want some bud now :)

There’s the man! Haha thanks for dropping in. I think if my goal was for a big outdoor crop i would take the time to do this. But my goal is to just maybe give away a few plants to close friends. I think I’m going to let them deal with it instead of me wasting valuable time and energy. Thanks for helping me make my mind up👍

If you want a big outdoor crop like 3-5 lbs from a plant minimum, then start from seed :)

You can do a clone and start her in December and let it get huge! Then put it outside. And easily get it to huge. But a plant can only yield as much as the strain can. Yield and quality are both a positive breeding quality.

But bigger roots and bigger plant means more flower.

Yeah i got a couple teens right now that I’m going to give away. They should be nice yeilders finished by april👍

Yeah i think I’ll just start some seeds and let them flourish outdoors at my buddy’s. I know one thing if i had the space to do outdoors i would close shop indoors for the season, except to keep my Tahoo and SAnta Rita going.

Thing about clones is that they DON'T GROW TAPROOT, which means it takes time to harden them outdoor, especially against wind. Another thing is that under CFLs, LEDs and even HPSes epidermal layer of plants doesn't thicken much, so when exposed to sun they are shocked! You can use UV lights inside to make the transition smoother, but it's an expense.

Yeah it’s not going to be worth the hassle for my needs. Now if i had a whole room and land that would be a different story. I have heard clones grow 1/3 of what a plant from seed can do. There are few exceptions to the rule though.

Slowly start backing the light schedule to spring... and just know that a lot of times the strain has so much to do with it. When you are growing something from the tropics in Alaska or trying to do an Afghani in Hawaii.. grow something from your area for your area? The easiest way is just to grow indoors and mimic whatever the needs of that strain is

You know it’s is pretty cool to throw out a 24 hour light cycle plant to start budding right away. It’s like an auto strain with very high thc buds! 👍 but i want people to be happy and grow monsters, but I’m not going to stress over it. We will see how motivated i fell, cause I’m an indoor farmer 😂😂

The most important thing is for you to just have fun with it and learn what the different strains are like. You will definitely find things that work great in your area and other things that are best for indoors

yep! The only reason im not considering doing this, its just to much stress added on me. Yes it would be nice to give away some nice clones to my buddys, but on the other hand its just to much to worry about since i have alot going on, in my grow and also my life.

Thanks for the vote for Witness!

Thanks for the upvote boost!!!

After the first paragraph and picture I was feeling like this 😫
But after scrolling down and seen the rest of the pictures I’m feeling like this 😆
