Behind the song - Lust for Life
Today I'm telling the background story for song number three "Lust for Life" from my new EP "Acoustic Dreams" that's available in my store now and from the 15 of July on all major services

Listening to the music I do today it can be somewhat hard to believe that I once was a real metal fan. In my early teens I almost exclusively listened to metal and my favorite band of all was Metallica.
But the subgenre that I loved the most was power metal and within that genre the man, the myth, the legend was and always will be Kai Hansen who fronted both Helloween and Gamma Ray.
And even though more than 15 years has passed and I don't listen to that much metal nowadays, there are still some songs that I always go back to, and "Lust for Life" by Gamma Ray is one of them.
I love how energetic and melodic this song is and the intro hits you right in the chest. I discovered this song at a moment in life when I for the first time started to deal with quite a lot of anxiety, and it became somewhat of an anthem for me how not to let the bad stuff in life bring you down. "Let us fly away, let us praise the day, when the lust for life is stronger than the fear" that Kai Hansen sings right after the solo still gives me kinda goosebumps.
It took me several years of trying different arrangements for this cover and when I finally got the skills to actually finger-pick at 190 BPM I felt really happy to be able to do a interpretation that I felt was worthy the original. So here's a little sneak peak of my version of "Lust for Life".
