Backyard photography with my smartphone
Yesterday was my day off from carving and time to spend with my family. We were going through our stuff, gathering things to put in my mother-in-law's garage sale and I found this lens kit for my smartphone. I remember buying it on Amazon for like $12. It has a wide angle lens, macro and telescope lens that attaches to a clip to go over the camera lens. Thought I'd test it out before throwing it in the garage sale box.
It had just rained so it was a good opportunity to take some simple pictures, I used the macro lens.
It's not the best lens kit but I think I got some good shots, figured I'd share my experience.
Just a few...turns out my yard is full of ticks as I found one crawling up my leg at the dinner table. I had just come in from taking the pictures. Nothing creeps me out more than ticks, just last week I pulled 9 of them off my dog. We took him to the vet Monday and he tested positive for Lyme disease. Hopefully the lawn treatment I used after dinner last night works. Keeping the fingers crossed, my son plays in the yard every day and I have to worry, checking him thoroughly every time.
So this was my experience yesterday, my day off from carving. Never a dull moment that's for sure.
I hope you enjoy my post, if so feel free to upvote and resteem.
Thanks for looking

That is not too bad. Reading your post I realized I have a kit like that lying around somewhere too. Will test it later today, just to see if it works for me as well.
Did you keep the kit or did it end up in the garage sale after all?
Thank you @ijmmai the macro works pretty good but wide angle lens not so much, haven't tried the zoom lens yet but think I will keep it just for the macro.
I just posted my first tries with the set here
Have to practice some more :)
It is difficult to keep the focus when using a smartphone
Good job! You're right though, focusing is difficult with the smart phone.
