My World, My Life. Yes I Am A Teacher

A great day everyone. Today, I will let you have a glimpse of my world. I have been teaching for 12 years now. And as I have noticed, more and more works are added every year. I have nothing against the system. It's my bread and butter. However, human as I am, I feel exhausted at times with so much work at hand.

Let's Talk Paper Works

At the start of the school year, we need to accomplish a form that lists all the names of the pupils enrolled, their birthdays, address and other personal information. At the end of each month, another form is required which summarizes the attendance of the pupils, their absences and tardiness. Every quarter, we have card releasing which is again another form to work on, not underestimating the sleepless night of making grades. Want more? Grades in the report card are rewritten in another form as their permanent record. There are still a lot of forms as the year progresses.

HOME VISITATION

Does it sound good to you? Yes, it is one of our obligations to visit our long lost pupils. Pupils who have been absent for a long time need our attention. We go to their houses and interview their parents then ask their help in monitoring their child's performance in school. Communication between the parents and the teachers is very important in the learning process. By home visitation, we somehow understand their behavior.

This girl lives in a dumpsite area. To support their needs, she goes with her friends to look for something valuable in the dumpsite to barter.

LESSON PLANNING

Lesson plan is an important part of a teacher's life. This serves as our guide when teaching. There have been many revisions. From lesson plan to instuctional plan to daily log plan. Whatever it is, it's purpose remains the same.

Instructional Materials

These are visual aids that help make learning better. Let's face it, we become attentive and interested when we see colorful objects. How much more are the children when they see beautiful images and visual aids. Yes, it costs us our time and effort and money. But the fulfillment inside is unfathomable.
