Life Ain't Easy
I look out my window watching the children play
I remember when that's all I had to do all the day
Now I sit at my computer competing for work
From my crappy apartment in Upper New York

Children may wish they could skip their adolescent years
They think life will be easy, they won't have no fears
But we know life will give them a swift kick in the pants
They will need to fight for a spot to have a good chance
--
It's up to the adults of the world to make them see
That anything worth having you don't get for free
Teach them about integrity, about honesty and such
That way when they do fail it won't hurt them so much

Youth is wasted on the young and wisdom on the old. This is a great poem with a great message.
Just what I was going for. The old need to try their best to pass that wisdom on to the younger generation.
