Keeping carpets clean w/ pets

Between the kid and dog, mostly the dog, keeping the carpets clean is not the easiest thing.

Here's my tips for keeping them clean.

1. I vacuum the crap out of them, especially where then dog sleeps and empty the bin many many times during this process.

2. After paying to have the carpets cleaned many times, I bought a Bissell pet series. The Bissell does a good job if you work at it.

3. After using the carpet shampoo, I do another quick run w/ just water. Getting the soap out is really important to the carpets staying clean.

4. Then I put 20LB weight on the front an really try to get as much water out as possible.

5. And finally, I do one more run around the room w/ distilled water. The distilled water has most of it's contents removed and there it attracts other components.
   It aggressively tries to compensate for the loss of its ions by taking them away from its surroundings. Distilled water aggressively tries to compensate for the loss of it's ions by taking them away from its surroundings, therefore leaning they carpet even cleaner.
