AN EASTER SPECIAL: THE RESURRECTION

Today is a day to celebrate. Its Easter, that means food, drinks, turkey(If you can afford it in this recession) and basically just having a good time. It’s a time to sit back, relax and just feel at peace with the world…. But to be honest, it’s more than that.

So recently I realized that people have started celebrating Christmas, Easter, etc, for the sake of celebrating and for some, it’s a chance to be gluttonous( I fall into this category). But in reality, it’s a day to celebrate the greatest wonder of Christianity; the resurrection of Christ. We need to remember that we are celebrating for a reason. Setting aside all the miracles he performed, which are amazing in themselves, Christ died and came back. There have been a couple of resurrections in the bible and Jesus performed a majority of them, including his own. But of all of them, his was the most special. This is because of them all, his is what I like to call “permanent resurrection”. All the others eventually died again, except him, thus making his significant among the significant.

So remember why we’re celebrating. Appreciate it and never forget it. Celebrate the season and never forget the reason. A little late but I’ll still hope y’all have a happy Easter.
