My first professional music video.
Sup Steem punks and Steem princesses
Today I want to talk on my experiences with shooting my first music video.
This certainly wasnt my last music video by a long shot, but the first experience is always worth talking about. I played in a band called 38 Caliber Hero. We had just finished recording our first full length album and we were ready to shoot a music video. The guys in my band were very solid businessmen and did a really good job at finding opportunities for us. It was the Friday night of Easter weekend and I was hanging out at my house when I received a call. My guitar player was calling to tell me we had the opportunity to shoot a free professional video, that he found a kid on craigslist in filmschool who wanted to do it as a project.
LET ME SAY THIS BEFORE I MOVE ON
.. I was very lucky in this scenario. Typically in this industry it is difficult to get any thing of quality for free. I am now very weary of what opportunities I go for that are free because of being burned out of time or put into awkward situations. This scenario was special case. We got lucky.Proceeding with the story.....
So we had the opportunity to shoot this video.. the only opening this kid had to shoot was EASTER SUNDAY.... and to make matters worse... that was less than 2 days away... We literally had 1 day of planning.
When I was a kid we used to party in the woods by my friend Sean's house. His parents owned the property, so I immediately called him and asked if we could recreate a party from our High school years . His parents love me so they agreed to let us do it.... I totally love them for that...because I went to social media and said "WHO WANTS TO PARTY AND BE IN A MUSIC VIDEO" and I posted his address for anyone in the public to show up. I also went in search of a model to help be our Juliet in this story.. I knew a girl from way back when, she did modeling ... and had cool tattoos all over her back.... I wanted to show those tats off in the video and she agreed to be in the video.. I hit up another friend to do makeup and we were on!
The day of the shoot comes around, and we throw a really awesome party! A ton of people showed up for our Easter party (Luckily).... Unspeakable fun happened at that party. haha ... and luckily we caught my high school memories all over again on camera for this music video. I dont want to hold you up any longer.
