Struggle
—Albert Camus
They don’t make much
But they bought a Victorian row house
Problem is, the plaster is cracked
And they can’t afford wallpaper…
So she pastes giftwrap paper on the walls
And shows me and is proud.
I’m thinking you’re proud
Until you have to take it down,
She’ll be scraping into the wee hours
Cursing her work-around...
But right now she’s proud
And makes me long
For when we were young
Living out of cardboard boxes
In a basement apartment…
With so much more than we have now.
It is always amazing to me that all we ever need is found so very quickly, and all we ever want seems pointless so very early.
that is simple and profound, lydon
Nice work john, really been helpful, im also a poet, and each i check your page i end up being inspired
Thanks, geoffrey - sometimes I find I'm more inspired by other poets than events in my life - it's a different way of going
When you have happiness, you have it all. A bittersweet tale of life told so well here:)
That is so true -material goods alone don't console
They are only temporary fixes.
Love the art John
Que imagen tan hermosa, saludos
