Storms and Sun
On the patio table,
The Maple swaying
To a different beat;
The garden lush
And greedily drinking,
Droplets bringing
Relief from heat.
The sky gray
Above the rooftops,
Reminds me
Of another day,
When sun and rain
Were hard competing
To drench us
And dry us again…
I go back to the cottage
And water beyond,
The wind-stepped water
In squalls by the pond,
All day long
One storm then another,
As I took your hands
Like gentle flowers
And we bloomed
Into trembling lovers.
Nicely done, John. Seems to me you might benefit from watching a 1952 MGM film with Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds, and Donald O'Connor. ;-)
ha ha ...good one, HP Sorry I didn't respond last night, but it seems Steemit went dead :)
It sure did. I always wonder what's going on around here when the lights are off. ;-)
I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.
if you just comment and don't vote, you ain't going anywhere

John,
The imagery in this evoked yet another smile. Thanks!
