Denouement With No Resolution
A piano tinkling
The rush of wind and rain
And heat from flames
Crackling in the grate
The music ends.
I would rewind the tape
But for the law of beginnings and ends—
Nothing can be repeated
Only replaced
And that’s how we’ll end our days.
The rain has stopped
And I peer through the window
At the Moon rising through the gray haze
Somewhere in the darkness you sleep
Impossibly distant
Beyond the glistening trees
Somewhere my replacement
Despairs of nights
Of the torment of this loneliness
There will be other storms
But no eternal returns—
That's decided
But after an interval
Without reprise
Life will go on
With nothing resolved by clearing skies
Ultimately that is what we yearn for ... the feeling of a clear sky. But it true nothing can be repeated, only replaced and so we are wise to love the fair vista. A beautifully penned and deeply meaningful write.
thanks, Pryde - 'love the fair vista' - love that line :)
Great words in just one writing! Bravo!
thanks, @mergy.fine.arts!

thank you, @melbourneswest
There are two aspects to my finding that you have published a new poem:
sigh...
thanks, Arthur :)
Excellent poem friend, transmits a feeling that makes you feel what you tell in your verses, I liked a lot, I also write a little, you could stop and read one of my works: https://steemit.com/castellano/@joseroa29/para-ella-prometo-que-por-su-amor-todo-hare-poema, It's a publication more than 7 days ago, but I think it deserves more people to read it..
Beautiful poem.. Really heart touching poem.
Like a real piano melody, crafted by words.
Nice poem and beautiful picture
Thanks 🙏🏼 for this beautiful artwork (great colors!) and poetry!
Have a great day
Fantastic poem! I've been getting into poems a bit more recently. They really are unique and a great read if the words hit correctly.
