Here Comes The Moto X4

in #cell7 years ago

It has been a couple of years since Motorola has updated its Moto X series of smartphone devices, which in the world of mobile is like forever already. But fans of the brand will be happy to know that during this year’s IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) tech show (which also saw the unveiling of LG’s latest phablet offering, the V30) held in the city of Berlin in Germany, Motorola has formally announced the existence of the Moto X4.

Motorola’s newest addition to the Moto X lineup is equipped with a 5.2 inch FHD display, with a resolution of 1,080 by 1,920 pixels and a pixel density of 424 ppi. This screen is paired with a dual camera configuration on the rear side, featuring a 12 megapixel dual auto focus pixel camera (with an f/2.0 aperture) and an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle sensor with a 120 degree field of view (with an f/2.2 aperture), and then on the front side, a 16 megapixel selfie shooter (with an f/2.0 aperture).

With regards to hardware specs, Motorola’s Moto X4 is fitted with Qualcomm’s 2.2 GigaHertz eight core Snapdragon 630 chip set and the Adreno 508 graphics processing unit, further complemented with 3 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM) as well as 32 gigabytes of onboard storage (with support for micro SD cards to expand capacity up to 2 terabytes). The device also features a 3,000 mAh battery and is powered by Google’s Android 7.1 Nougat mobile operating system.

Motorola has introduced a lot of changes in its latest Moto X offering. For instance, the Moto X4 now joins rarefied company of devices that come with built in support for Alexa, the digital assistant developed by Amazon. Earlier this year during the Mobile World Congress event held in the city of Barcelona in Spain around half a year ago, Motorola had stated that it was planning to release devices with Alexa compatibility, and many had expected the digital assistant to land on one of those new Moto Mods, so the fact that the feature is on the Moto X4 is a delightful surprise.

According to Motorola’s official blog, the Moto X will be launched first in European markets within the month, with a starting price of $475. The device should land in American shores some time by fall later this year. To browse other Moto X devices, feel free to explore more phones and plans from Motorola at Wirefly now.moto-x4.jpg
