Agriculture refers to all productive activities which involves the cultivation of soil for crops production, breeding, feeding and management of livestock, preparation of plant and animals products, for man use.
What is the meaning of "organic" and can you give me 5 examples of organic items you know?
Organic can be define or seen as those things that are natural or related to nature, that is to say for something to be organic it must not be artificial or man made.
Organic foods are not necessarily completely chemical free, but the pesticide residues will be considerably lower than those found in produce manufactured with synthetic chemicals.
Some times we normally refer to some food as organic food because it is produced using sustainable agricultural production practices also organic is often used to talk about fruits and vegetables that have been produced in a specific way, typically without the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides etc .
Example of organic items are..
- beverages
- grains
- fruit
- vegetables
- spinach
People say organic foods are healthier, but do you think foods grown with chemicals are not healthy? What do you think about this?
It will be very difficult for me to agree or concour with anyone that foods grown with chemical is not healthy, why because indirectly the person is trying to tell me that most food we eat nowadays does add any nutritional value to our health because they are grown with chemicals.
Now that technology has taken almost everything that farmer don't longer depends on organic method but artificial and chemical which help them to control pest and produce crops in large quantity, chemical crops can also be healthier to our body but not like organic crops.
If you had to choose between organic food and inorganic food, which one would you pick? Please explain your reasons.
If they should be an opportunity like this I will definitely go for organic crop than inorganic crops because of the following reasons below.
- Organic food is always more tasty and healthy more than inorganic food making it more preferable than inorganic food.
- Organic food has higher nutritional value and it is also free from harmful chemicals like pesticides and others apart from this it's organic food has been found to have higher levels of vitamins and minerals more than inorganic food.
- Organic food is often fresher because it doesn't contain any preservatives that make it last longer and at the same time it reduces the use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides.
Can you list 5 disadvantages of organic food?
Despite several benefits that organic food has they are still some disadvantages backup with it which includes......
- most organic food is perishable which happens to spoil fast because of no preservatives.
- the cost price of organic food is always high because it is very rare so those who have it sell it in a high prize.
- the process of producing organic food is usually hard because it requires man power and natural method.
- Organic produce costs more since the yield from a land is not as much as what farmers produce through the conventional methods.
- focusing on organic food production may make you miss opportunity and chances.
What kinds of food can be produced organically?
There are different type of organic food produced but the ones that is mostly produce organically are fruits, vegetables, cookies, meat, grains, and diary products, Organic foods are produced through farming practices that only use natural substances.
