Messiah and the Red Heifer

Messiah Y'shua  (Jesus)-- our red heifer!

Numbers 19:2,This is a law of the Torah which יהוה has commanded, saying, ‘Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, that they bring you a red heifer, a perfect one, in which there is no blemish and on which a yoke has never come.  Matthew 11:30, For My yoke is gentle and My burden is light.”  1Peter 1:19,but with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless,  Numbers 19:3, And you shall give it to El‛azar the priest, and he shall bring it outside the camp, and shall slaughter it before him.  Hebrews 13:12-13, And so יהושע also suffered outside the gate, to set apart the people with His own blood.  13Let us, then, go to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.

Numbers 19:4-5, And El‛azar the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger, and sprinkle some of its blood seven times toward the front of the Tent of Meeting.  5‘And the heifer shall be burned before his eyes – he burns its hide, and its flesh, and its blood, and its dung.  Hebrews 9:19-28, 19For when, according to Torah, every command had been spoken by Mosheh to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,  20saying, “This is the blood of the covenant which Elohim commanded you.” 21And in the same way he sprinkled with blood both the Tent and all the vessels of the service.  22And, according to the Torah, almost all is cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.  23It was necessary, then, that the copies of the heavenly ones should be cleansed with these, but the heavenly ones themselves with better slaughter offerings than these.  24For Messiah has not entered into a Set-apart Place made by hand – figures of the true – but into the heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of Elohim on our behalf,  25not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters into the Set-apart Place year by year with blood not his own.  26For if so, He would have had to suffer often, since the foundation of the world. But now He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the offering of Himself.  27And as it awaits men to die once, and after this the judgment,  28so also the Messiah, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time, apart from sin, to those waiting for Him, unto deliverance.  1 Corinthians 6:19, Or do you not know that your body is the Dwelling Place of the Set-apart Spirit who is in you, which you have from Elohim, and you are not your own?

Numbers 19:6, And the priest shall take cedar wood and hyssop and scarlet, and throw them into the midst of the fire burning the heifer.  This is an excerpt from an article regarding the cross, or execution stake; the True Cross was made from three different types of wood: cedar, pine and cypress.  John 19:29, A bowl of sour wine stood there, and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and held it to His mouth.  Matthew 27:28, And having stripped Him, they put a scarlet robe on Him.

Numbers 19:7-13, The priest shall then wash his garments, and shall bathe his body in water, and afterward come into the camp, but the priest is unclean until evening.  8‘And he who is burning it washes his garments in water, and shall bathe his body in water, and is unclean until evening.  9‘And a clean man shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and shall place them outside the camp in a clean place. And they shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl for the water for uncleanness, it is for cleansing from sin.  10‘And he who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his garments, and is unclean until evening. And it shall be a law forever to the children of Yisra’ĕl and to the stranger who sojourns in their midst.  11‘He who touches the dead of any human being is unclean for seven days.  12‘He is to cleanse himself with the water on the third day, and on the seventh day he is clean. But if he does not cleanse himself on the third day, then on the seventh day he is not clean.  13‘Anyone who touches the dead of a human being, and does not cleanse himself, defiles the Dwelling Place of יהוה. And that being shall be cut off from Yisra’ĕl. He is unclean, for the water for uncleanness was not sprinkled on him, his uncleanness is still upon him.  Matthew 27:59-60, And having taken the body, Yosĕph wrapped it in clean linen,  60and laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock. And he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and went away.  2 Peter 3:8, But, beloved ones, let not this one matter be hidden from you: that with יהוה one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. -- Third day, seventh day (ref) -We are told throughout Scripture to be prepared by theThird day. Exodus 19:10-11,10And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Go to the people and set them apart today and tomorrow. And they shall wash their garments,  11and shall be prepared by the third day. For on the third day יהוה shall come down upon Mount Sinai before the eyes of all the people.

Joshua 1:10-11, 10And Yehoshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,  11“Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare food for yourselves, for within three days you are passing over this Yardĕn, to go in to possess the land which יהוה your Elohim is giving you to possess.’ ”

John 2:19-21, יהושע answered and said to them, “Destroy this Dwelling Place, and in three days I shall raise it.”  20Then the Yehuḏim said, “It took forty-six years to build this Dwelling Place, and You are going to raise it in three days?”  21But He spoke about the Dwelling Place of His body.

On the seventh day we enter the millenial reign......

Numbers 19:15, and every open vessel which has no cover fastened on it, is unclean.  1 Corinthians 11:3, And I wish you to know that the head of every man is the Messiah, and the head of woman is the man, and the head of Messiah is Elohim.  As the red heifer was fully consumed, Messiah gave His entire life for the Kingdom of His Father. May we learn to offer our lives as a Living sacrifice to Him as well. Y'shua met every requirement of the red heifer, the purification for us! Scripture does not contradict itself, the Torah is the Newer Testament being lived out! Without Messiah as our covering we are unclean!   Much Shalom!
