PM returns to Dhaka

The Prime Minister landed at Shahjalal Airport in Dhaka on Saturday night at around 10:30 pm on a VVIPflite from Bangladesh.

Sheikh Hasina went to Kolkata on a two-day visit to Dhaka to inaugurate the convocation of Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan and inauguration of Bangladesh Bhaban and special convocation of Kazi Nazrul University of Asansol.

On Friday morning, after reaching Kolkata from Kolkata, he went to Santiniketan in the helicopter. The Prime Minister unveiled the plaque of Bangladesh Building in Visva-Bharati as well as participating in the convocation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Then he met with the Indian Prime Minister.

In the afternoon, Sheikh Hasina visited Tagore's house in Jodhashanko, the birthplace of Rabindranath Tagore, returning to Calcutta in the afternoon. Later, the hotel met with the leaders of Kolkata-based business association in Taj Bengal and took part in the night dinner organized by the governor of West Bengal.

In the morning, Sheikh Hasina reached Kazi Nazrul Airport at Durgapur in the morning. From there, on arrival at Kazan Nazrul University of Asansol on noon, he welcomed the Vice Chancellor. Then there is a special convocation, where Sheikh Hasina is given De-Lit Degree.

The Prime Minister visited the Netaji museum from Asansol to Calcutta and visited the museum. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Bandyopadhyay paid a courtesy call with Sheikh Hasina in the afternoon. Then a delegation of local MPs called on him with courtesy.

Prime Minister's younger sister Sheikh Rehana, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Advisers HT Imam, Gowher Rizvi, Moshiur Rahman and Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Culture Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, State Minister for Technical Education and Madrasa Education Kazi Keramat Ali was with the Prime Minister on this tour.

Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Ihsanul Karim, Acting Secretary of Prime Minister Sajjadul Hasan Khan, Bangladesh High Commissioner Syed Moazzem Ali in New Delhi and the concerned officials joined the Prime Minister's visit.

Emeritus professor Anisuzzaman and professor Rafiqul Islam, University Grants Commission Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan, Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof. Akhteruzzaman, Vice-Chancellor of National University Professor Harun-Ar-Rashid, artist Hashem Khan, Ekattar Television's Chief Executive Mozammel Babu, Awami League leader Dipu Moni and Sheikh Helal Uddin, Asim Kumar Ukil, Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapan, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, SM Kamal, Shamsunnahar Champa, Parvin Zaman Kalpana, Jubo League leader Apu Ukil were also accompanied by the Prime Minister's visitor's team.
