Need your advice

Hi,

I need your help, your advice. I have two kids, both 16 years old and twins of course. Until 2 years ago they went to the same school.
Then my daughter changed to a fashion school and my son stayed at the high school. Both didn't like this school but since it is 500 meters away from our home...

He became very bad at school and had to repeat one year. Then he decided he wants to quit school and learn a profession (apprentice). We said OK, searched together for a company where he could learn for mechatronics what was the profession he decided he would like to do, made some tests and then a company said he were the best from all candidates and they would take him - super, the whole family was happy.

We talked to the managers and signed the contract together.

Yesterday was his first day there and when he came home after work he said he wouldn't go there anymore. The colleagues were not nice and told him names (he is either a smaller and quiet guy just as me ;) and he wouldn't like the job itself - after one day!?

Today he didn't go to work and now, as I am writing this, he is writing his cancellation of the apprentice contract. We, his parents, have to sign this letter too. He then wants to search for another school.

So, now I need your advice:

Should I force him to go back to work because who can say after one day working that he doesn't like it? Should I talk to his boss and those stupid colleagues? He does not want me to do this and I think this might make the situation even worse.

Or should I sign this letter and help him find another school?

I would prefer the second, but who can tell me he will like learning then? He is not stupid but lazy :(
We are really good parents who love and care for their children and we do everything to make them happy!

I do not know if anyone really will be able to help us but writing this helped me somehow :)
