Social cognition represents a fundamental skill for effective social behavior. It is nowadays widely accepted that individuals suffering from serious mental illness are impaired in this domain. (Hoertnagl, 2014)

The executive system, which forms a default mode network in the brain, the ego in Freudian psychology, is active during social cognition, particularly higher-order tasks such as attributing mental states to others. (Mars, 2012)

Attenuation of the executive system is caused by external force, within nation-states from a coercive legal system with a monopoly on violence, which exerts its own will and agency that crushes the executive system of an individual, resulting in an onset of “law-integration disorder” (what has been falsely described as mental disorder) which leads to a decreased ability to regulate and filter inflow of memes, and makes a brain susceptible to the pathological memes that Hoyle Leigh described in 2010. Self-determination as a way to re-instate an attenuated executive function

Self-determination activates and engages the parts of the brain that are diminished during law-integration disorders, executive frontal lobe functions and self-regulation which is the ego in Freudian psychology, leading to increased over-all goal-directed behavior, effectively curing and reversing mental illness from decreased social cognition.
