PERSEVERANCE
Hebrew 12:1-3

1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Hebrew 10 – A Call to Persevere in Faith
Hebrew 11 – Faith in Action, People who exercise Perseverance in Faith
Hebrew 12 – Our time to PERSEVERE IN FAITH

Sometimes the issue is not perseverance the issue are the things that hinders us and the sins that entangles us.

PERSEVERANCE - steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. Doing something means you are moving. Despite of difficulty or delayed you are still doing something.

PERSEVERANCE MEANS
-Kahit mahirap tatagal ka -Kahit matagal gagalaw ka

SCHOOL MAG PEPERSEVERE KA

• Failed in Thesis – TATAGAL AKO KASI MAG PEPERSEVER AKO
• Not Top Students – TATAGAL AKO KASI MAG PEPERSEVER AKO
• Working Student – TATAGAL AKO KASI MAG PEPERSEVER AKO
• No allowances, No Support - TATAGAL AKO KASI MAG PEPERSEVER AKO

WORK MAG PEPERSEVERE KA

• No promotion
• No Increase
• No Appreciation
• No Savings

WHY WE BADLY NEED TO TALK ABOUT PERSEVERANCE?

• TO GO BACK IN THE ORIGINAL PLAN OF GOD – (Genesis 2:8)
  “Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.” Garden means paradise, other said PRESENCE OF GOD

• TO WIN OTHER PEOPLE
  “The greatest legacy one can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and FAITH”- Billy Graham

• TO GLORIFY GOD (1 Corinthians 10:31)
  So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
  God created us to glorify His goodness,

“Your life as a Christian should make nonbelievers question their disbelief in God”

God is placing us into the situation where we can develop PERSEVERANCE.

HOW TO ACTIVATE PERSEVERANCE?

1 REMEMBER EVERY WITNESS

• Many people don’t persevere because they don’t listen to the testimony of other people.
• Faith comes from the hearing, hearing of the word of God.
• Hindi mo lang alam, may mga tao nag papatuloy dahil nakikita nila ang kabutihan ng Diyos sayo, so don’t give up.
• The testing is many so that you will have TESTIMONY
• Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

2 RELEASE EVERY WEIGHT

• In the Old Testament the English word "burden" is translated from the Hebrew word massa.

• In Matthew 23:4 Jesus describes the heavy burdens the Pharisees laid upon the people. Burden is the weight from other people, during those time it speaks about religion, peer pressure, family pressure, worries of life like food, clothing, shelter, acceptance and worldly ambition. It could be government, politics, economy, system.

• For us to activate or exercise our PERSEVERANCE we need to remove every weight or burden in our lives. Today what are those possible weight of in your life?

3 REMOVE EVERY WICKEDNESS

Sin is always the reason why we stop, sin is the break to our momentum. Stop sinning so that you can see with your own eyes the promise land that God has prepared for you. Sin is the greatest enemy of God. Love God avoid sin. If you committed sin be humble before God, ask for His forgiveness and grace to cleanse you and deliver you from all unrighteousness.

Sin and Perseverance cannot coexist, because sin is a diversion to your goal and perseverance is fuel to your dream. Acceleration and break cannot step in together.

4 RUN WITH WINNERS

“And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,“

There is a saying "Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are" I really believe in this statement. If you want to run the race with the heart of winning the race, spend time with winners, ask them and have fellowship with them and later on you will have a bigger picture how they win the game.

For us to be a winner in this race of life, don't focus yourself to those who are quitters to those who never persevere but fix your eyes to Jesus the finisher and perfecter of our faith, and to those people who live their lives to Jesus.

If you feel like quitting that is the best time to give birth to perseverance, perseverance is originally created to those who are quitting.
