Facing Our Fears: Economic Recession

In the most unlikely of places, I heard whispers of the recession.

Just before the church choir started, someone said, "things are going to get real bad next year."

"Life is going to be very tough from now on."

In the most unlikely of places, I hear men discussing  -  in hushed tones  -  their burdens, worries and fears. In the most unlikely of places, I receive confirmation that we all must be prepared for choppy waters ahead.

I only started thinking about the recession a month ago, upon hearing some of the podcasts aired by the @dollarvigilante. But what they predict is not just another typical economic downturn that is cyclical in nature, but one that is much worse in scale than the 2008 financial crisis.

And that is quite shocking, especially when most of my peers are spending like cash is not going to run out, like tomorrow is going to be just fine.

Some have no inkling about what might come upon them, like the tsunami waves that came upon hapless, unsuspecting merrymakers. Like the flood which came upon the people of Noah's time.

It is time for us not to deny reality. Instead, we must be fully educated and prepared for what lies ahead, however bad it will be.

And yet for all the preparations (financial, physical, mental and otherwise) that we can make, we must not give in to fear.

Honestly, that is the part which I struggle with the most.

I'm all about making preparations, survival back-up plans, but at the same time I refuse to relinquish control of what I can neither know, predict or control.

Therein lies the issue. We should work with our hands what we can, and then fold our hands in quiet trust that the work will be blessed.

Why is fear so bad for us?

As @taskmaster4450 so keenly pointed out,

"Fear is the major weapon used against humanity. When people are afraid, they operate at an energetic level that is not conducive to thriving. Those who are aware of things such as energy and vibration understand where I am coming from."

Boy, do I understand. My jaws clench and my muscles tighten. But those are just the visible manifestations of the mental, emotional and spiritual contraction we go through, which I firmly believe is the cause of untold human suffering.

When our minds contract and our soul shrinks, all our relationships and interactions suffer. Even how we look at and experience life is inevitably distorted when we look out through a lens of fear.

I have been challenged to examine all my actions and see if they stem from fear - and if so, to discard them.

In a disconnected state, it's usually the vibration of fear, lack or hatred that fuels our actions, while in the connected state (or what I call a state of wholeness)… it is always the vibration of joy, love and wholeness that fuels our actions  -  fear no longer stays as the motivational force for our actions.

Will you join me? ❤️

Fear is a great motivator. Unfortunately, it can also paralyze, and cause one to think about thing irrationally. Economies go up and down. It's best to think things through with a sound mind. Hope for the best but plat for the worst.

Fear is a great motivator - and that is why it can be used so often to manipulate the minds of people.

I totally agree! Blessings ((:

Yes... this is all on the backs of our minds at the moment... reducing personal debt and making sure that there is a diversification of assets. Anyway, we'll see how this all turns out... hopefully not too disasterously.. but the worry is there! We do what we can to prepare, but there are many things in our lives that are worth more than money as well!

@bengy Yeahhh reducing personal debt is key. Actually, I strongly believe we should all avoid debt as much as possible and live within our means. That'll go a long way to be in a financially strong position.

Agree that the best things in life can't be bought ((:
