SUMMER GOES DOWN WITH FIGHT

Hello Angry Ben fans. Warmer air is beginning to make its move today into the NYC Metro Area, hanging in there long enough to make the first day of Fall feel like mid June. This is common if the timing of fronts works out "perfectly", and this year it does.

High pressure dominates the period with clear skies this morning throughout the Northeast. The area will get into west winds and say goodbye to Humberto, which is finally leaving the map. The chance of some rough surf and rip currents continue, but the NE component to make for cool weather is gone. Highs today near 80 throughout the area after a cool morning.

The radar remains clear and that'll stick until a weak cold front moves through some time on Monday night. Until then, it'll help bring up warm into into the region. The weekend starts with low to mid 80's tomorrow and a slight uptick in humidity, then a warm and humid day on Sunday with mid 80's. Some spots might edge the upper 80's in downtown Brooklyn and central Queens.

That cold front comes through Monday night, but not before one more warm one for the start of Fall. Monday will be a sunny start, then increasing clouds, highs in the low to mid 80's. There will be a slight chance of showers and storms overnight Monday, and that'll help bring cooler air and 70's for Tuesday.

I spoke with The Angry One last night, and he said we may not be done with the warm air just yet. His take on things sets up another possible ridge building towards the end of the month, giving us another shot at some 80's again either just before or just after the switch into October. Hopefully he'll be back soon to guide you into that period.
