It's no news that cholestrols are bad substances for the human body, not all cholestrols anyway.
Low density and very low density cholestrols are popularly referred to as ‘bad cholestrols'. This is due to the fact that they are landmarks for atherosclerosis.

Atherosclerosis is a major disorder of the circulatory system caused mainly by the accumulation of cholesterol of the blood vessels.

But I learnt today that these ‘bad cholestrols’ are also essential in the synthesis of many very important steroid hormone, ranging from the life saving hormone (aldosterone) to sex hormones such as testosterone, estrogen and progesterone.

Pharmaceutical industries have made enormous profit from the sale of anti-cholesterol drugs.
But is this really a mere scientific hypothesis?, as the absence of these bad cholestrols entails a disorder in the synthesis of these important hormones

But however, it's important to note that the excess of these cholestrols is really the main cause of atherosclerosis, as tangible quantity of these hormones are essentials for steroid hormone production.
