Please Don't Hug the Cactus

While traveling through Arizona to visit relatives, we stopped to look at some of the local desert wildlife. My son got very close to a giant cactus which prompted my wife to actually say something I never thought I would hear anyone say;
"Please don't hug the cactus!"
