Dtube - How To Throw Dough To Make The Delicious & Traditional Roti Cani In Malaysia! 🐴
This is an interesting video of a Roti Canai cook in Malaysia throwing the dough into transparent sheets and folding them into puffy lumps before they are fried to perfection.
The art of throwing Roti Canai into thin sheets to trap air is awesome to watch. In this video we get to see an expert creating the Roti Chani before frying on a griddle.
Roti Canai is considered a Malaysian invention and a staple food in the country. A great Roti Canai is crispy, fluffy, delicious fried bread. It is eaten at any time of day but is considered a breakfast staple and is served with delicious vegetarian dal and warm sweet Teh Tarik or pulled tea.
Roti Canai can be found at Malaysian restaurants around the world but it never tastes as good as the ones that are Made In Malaysia!
This dish is mostly served at Mamak Stalls who are staffed by Malaysian’s with a Tamil Muslim origin. They have a delicious style of food which is spicy, tasty and cheap.
The price of a Roti Chanai has always been used as indicator of the state of inflation in Malaysia. As a child I enjoyed eating Roti Canai with my brother many times and the prices are much lower than they is today!
Here is a vegan recipe for Roti Canai that you can try yourself. The trick is to throw the the Roti Canai dough as shown in this video so it becomes translucent, light and filled with air. An excellent Roti Canai will be smashed between the cook's palms directly off the grill. These cooks have asbestos hands!
