Kratom For Diabetes & High Blood Pressure - Why Is The FDA Cracking Down On It?

I met an interesting guy the other day who told me that his mother cured her diabetes and high blood pressure with Kratom. I have taken Kratom or Mitragyna speciosa numerous times legally in Indonesia but I have never heard this. Strangely this information came to me as the FDA seems to be cracking down on Kratom.

I think there could be something strange going on here!

My Personal Experiences With Kratom

I have taken Kratom many times in Indonesia where it is legal. It grows naturally throughout South East Asia and there are several kinds of Kratom tree. In Bali you can buy it from a proper shop and they will deliver it to you. It comes as a green powder and can be taken by adding to hot water, lime and honey. It is traditional and indigenous.

The effects are mild but interesting. In low doses it seems to act as a stimulant similar to coffee but caffeine free. In higher doses it is a sedative but not stronger than perhaps 4 large bottles of beer but it's not a drunkenness. The closest thing is in effect is Cannabis but it is not Cannabis. It's clearly a strong active medicinal plant.

I never experienced a hangover or poor experiences using it. I also noticed no addictive qualities and a bag might sit in the fridge for months before being finished.

Kratom - Curing Diabetes?

The young Malysian I met told me how his mother cured her diabetes and high blood pressure using Kratom. I questioned him and he told me his mother drank one large jug of a very strong mixture of red Kratom. She drank it over two days. Her diabetes and high blood pressure were healed. She seemed to be able to use this therapy once a year or as needed to effectively deal with her ailments.

I cannot verify this story but I had not reason to disbelieve him!

I know people with diabetes which has the potential to become life threatening. However if this is an effective herbal treatment for diabetes and high blood pressure why is there now a push to stop people having access to it in the west?

The Push Against Kratom

The FDA is pushing to have Kratom illegality enforced. The same is happening in other places currently, like Australia. Sellers are being squeezed to stop supplying. The FDA claims that they fear Kratom affects the opioid receptors in the brain. The truth is the greatest impact on risk from drugs comes from processing things in laboratories - not plucking them from the farm.

These fears do not match my own experiences with Kratom. It seems insane that people may be making things illegal without even trying it for themselves. Could that be the case here or is perhaps the medicinal value a worry to Big Pharma?

I do not have the answer to this but the model is there to potentially be feasible.

The Potential For Corruption

If this unsolicited story is correct and 2 liters of strong Kratom mixture can have positive impacts on diabetic effects and high blood pressure, there would be a strong incentive to stop this knowledge becoming public and to push authorities to heavily regulate Kratom. That is certainly what is happening.

I can truthfully say I don't personally see any reason to make this tree illegal and I have never heard anyone speak of Kratom problems throughout South East Asia. Alcohol and cigarettes cause greater harm than Kratom in the society. I would recommend Kratom to my family with diabetes.

Lets see how this develops. The young Malaysian I spoke with has easy access to Kratom as it grows wild around his house. He believes it will be legalized in Malaysia soon and the reason it hasn't until now was based on the difficulty of taxing it.

However Kratom is a traditional medicine and that should always be allowed to the sick if it helps them.

Lets see where things go with the Kratom debate, I will continue to follow it and perhaps conduct some experiments myself for Steemit! 😋
