Have you ever onwed a dog that didn't need to be trained?
I would like to introduce you to one of the smartest dogs that I have had so far.
This is my Chow chow dog Layla who is 5 years old now.
We got Layla, she was just 3 months old and since the first day we got she has been just the perfect dog ever.
We never had to train her to go outside to do her business (she never peed in the house) and the strange thing is that the lady that we bought her from never had to train Layla to go ouside to do her business either.
She just knew since she was a born and from what I hear her mom was the same way.
Now that is something I have never heard of or seen before. So like I said, just a perfect dog to have.
But that is not even the best part. The other strange but awesome thing she always did is that she goes do her business in the farthest part of the backyard; away from the house and this is the only pace she does her business (not all over the backyard) and we didn't train her to do that either.
Layla has a black/purple tongue and from what I have heard it means that the dog with black/purple tongues are very, very smart.
The only thing we had trained Layla is to stay, sit and lay down, which took only 20 minutes to teach her.
Layla loves, loves torillas and she will never say no to torilla unless she feels sick. But the other strange thing she has always done is that she does not eat inside the house. Everything she eats for some reason she feels like she has to eat it outside, including the tortilla which she loves.
If I give her any food inside the house, Layla will not eat it and wait, holding the food in her mouth untill someone opens the door for her to go outside.
Well....unless there are fireworks ouside or thunder and lightning like today. Some boys were playing with fireworks on the street and Layla is always so scared and hides at home and when I gave her the tortilla she didn't know what to do since she would not eat it inside and she was scared to go outside, so I had to go outside and stay there with her for her to eat her tortilla.
The funny thing is that Chow Chows are guard dogs and they don't really like to be inside the house since they guard the house/backyard all night long, so it's really strange to see Layla scared since she is a tough guard dog.
Chow chows are known to have only one boss who they listen to and protect and so they are not very good with kids. As long as the kids don't bug them too much then it's ok. But I personally would not recoment a chow chow dog if you have little ones in the house.
