KEEP THAT VOW!

in #marriage8 years ago (edited)

Good Morning great minds and fellow steemians, today we will be treating the issue in marriage that causes acrimony in our homes and eventually leads to divorce.
For the fact that you can't live in your homes without having issues with your siblings, the same is applicable to marriage... Hear the words of John. R, Clark;

"In learning how to love a plain human being today; what we usually want unconsciously is a fancy human being with no flaws. When the mental picture we have if someone we love is coloured by wishes of childhood. We may love the picture rather than the real person behind it. Naturally we are disappointed in the person we love if he or she does not conform to the picture. Since this kind if disappointment has no doubt happened to us before, one might suppose we would tear up the picture and start over again. On the contrary we keep the picture and tear up the person. Small wonder that divorce courts are full of couples who never gave themselves a connection know the real person behind the pictures in their lives."

I hear the sound like the gushing of waterfalls: Oh! Marriage is tough! *I just can't keep that vow! Made by two well -to- do ladies having a discussion in a boutique. Now read the poem below by Ukpon Ntinse. It's title; THE PROMISE:
"you loved me because I am young, elegant and strong.
You cherish my youth, which blossoms like a flowering plant.
And you vowed to be with me till the end of time.
But time will come when the teeth, that once were white, will be encrusted with green and yellow muck,
And will drop off leaving the mouth wholly putrid with smell.
But don't forget you once kissed these lips.
Time will come when the radiance on my face will fade away,
And my charming smiles, become strange or full of contours.
These plumpy cheeks will sag.
Time will come when the seasons mock at me as I lean on sticks, galloping because these feet nimble no more.
Time will come when the sweet fragrance of my youth fades away and the putrescence (smell) of the aged stinks.
Remember your promise"

Amazing lines! Indeed, frustration of old age is inevitable, if marital love is based on beauty(the physical) or favour (riches) as the the set fragrance if youthfulness and money fades real men and women stay faithful. They don't have time looking for other partners because they are too busy looking for new ways to their own. 137138597.jpg

A strong marriage isn't magically created. When you say "I DO", It is but on a life time of "I DOs", such as : "I Do Love You! I Do Cherish You! I Do Choose You above others!"
Never let the sun go down on your anger! Forget the past and begin again! A happy marriage looks at the future and not the past! Men must catch this: *A woman wants a man who protects her like a daughter, loves her like a wife and respects her like his mother. Forgive your partner in advance because offenses will surely come. Marriage is not 50-50,Divorce is 50-50! Marriage has to be 100-100. It is giving everything you got (I know many will disagree with me on this) If you are not married think of tomorrow and let the above peom and God's word teach you a great lesson.

I'll make sure my future hubby reads this before accepting anything 😂

True sayings , with this, submission on the part of the woman is easy and marriage is heaven on earth

Marriage can be a Brundage, yet a blessing. It all depends on perception, a lot of pple enter it with a wrong mind set. But thanks for this piece anyways, u nailed it

Hmmmmm! One mystery I know God has been able to unveil to me over time is that of marriage even though i am not married.

That word I DO is beyond english language.
God ordained this institution. When you want to go into it, you must be ready to face it fully For bettet for worse. For me as an individual is not an emotional decision to make it a total commitment and responsibility.

God servant "The Priest" is his representative pgysically present, The trinity and then the audience. You want to tell me is childs play? Mba nu nu nu...

Commitment is all in I DO and I DO is commitment @joagawu atleast experience is the teacher now.. With your hubby and your little boy, you get to find out that you cant make certain decision on your own.. That just one of the commitment of I DO.

Cheers and thanks for this piece.
