DISEMPOWERING QUESTIONS AND STATEMENTSJ
Hello Everyone
Disempowering denotes no power left,to surrender or to give your power away.
An example of a disempowering question is when something happens and you ask, "Why me?"
My question is, "Do you have anyone better in mind?"
Years ago,I learned to stop asking, "Why me?"I learned to ask, "What are you trying to teach me?" I ask, "What can I learn from this, or through this?" Life ill teach you lesson if you are open to learn. If not, you will repeat the same lesson(s), repeatedly.
Learn to ask empowering questions. For instance, How can I turn this seemingly bad thing into a good thing? How can I overcome this? What resources do i have that can allow me to breakthrough this?" Ask more how vs. why questions. Ask, "When?" or, "How soon?
Learn to ask great "What if' questions such as: What if everything turns around? What if I accomplish all of my goals and dreams? What if i could handle anything life throws my way and more? What if i operated in faith and confidence instead of fear and doubt? What if anything good that can happen, does happen and what if it happens at the best possible time?"
It has been wisely stated,The quality of your life will be determined by the quality of the questions you ask God,yourself, and others" powerful people ask empowering questions, others ask disempowering questions.
Here is an empowering question, " What would yo attempt to do if you knew that you couldn't fail? How would you respond if you were as strong and ad awesome as the person you respect the most?"
Have you ever made a similar statement? "So and so makes me sick,"please note that no one can make you do anything ,you simply react to them or allow them to push your buttons, but you are in control,or give it to another.
God made you with the most beautiful thing in the world, a free will, thus ultimately the choice is yours to give your power to another,or keep it. Eleanor Rosevelt said it best," No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." Stop giving your power away . Stop playing the victim.
It's been said," the smartest man/woman in the world only uses 10% of their brain capacity." May I ask a pointed question," What capacity of your of your will are you exercising, and what percentage have you given to another?" You were made to have dominion, not to be dominated. Stop allowing yourself,to be less than yourself!
Nelson Mandela was locked up unjustly for 30 years. His captors did everything they could to break his will, but they were unsuccessful.
After gaining his freedom, Nelson Mandela became president, but not just president, the first African president in turbulent South Africa.
To the utter surprise of many whites and blacks,he did not retaliate against the racism that he and his people suffered for many years, instead he showed great compassion, and true leadership. Instead of the predicted riots, the country became greater under Nelson Mandela's leadership simply because he ruled his own soul; it qualified him to guide others to the highest good of the country. Plato was quoted as saying,"The greatest of all victories is to conquest of one's own self"
