Frogs, cups and Mugs - Ceramics

I woke up early this morning to discover that nice fall chill in the air. It felt so good and refreshing that I made myself a cup of coffee and then went out to my pottery studio (garage) to work on some more molds. I was totally dissatisfied with my last large mug that came out looking scary so I wanted to try again. I also want to do something creative with the mug other than just glaze it. It needs to have something special engraved in it or added to it so that it looks like a custom mug rather than something that you picked up from a discount store.

I poured a large bullfrog and an open mouth frog in addition to the cups and mugs.

I poured two cups and two mugs this morning so that I can try out a couple of designs on each.

The frogs will ultimately go on my porch or in my raised garden bed to help keep squirrels, birds and chipmunks away from my herbs and food. (I hope)

I managed to pour clay slip into the molds, and wait until the clay was dry enough to clean up.

The clay is not leather hard though so I have to wait to fully embellish them, otherwise I will distort the mold. Believe me, I already tried that because I was impatient.

The large bullfrog mold was so heavy once I added the clay slip that I add to use some leverage to manipulate it and not mess up the wet clay.

I also have a 12 in bull dog that I want to pour but I need my friend's help to manage that large mold. I will have to do that one another day.
