What was the difference between Arjuna and Duryodhana?

It can be clearly seen in their encounter with Lord Krishna when He was sleeping. Both Arjuna and Duryodhana approached Lord Krishna as He lay resting on His bed. Just see how elevated Duryodhana was,. He could directly approach Lord Krishna. Duryodhana even chose to go close to the Lord's head, while Arjuna sat at the foot of the bed.

When Lord Krishna opened His eyes He saw Arjuna first.
Both Arjuna and Duryodhana had come to ask help from the Lord in the coming battle of Kuruksetra. Because the Lord saw Arjuna first He asked to hear what Arjuna requested. Arjuna simply asked for the association of the Lord. Not even to have Lord Krishna fight but just to drive his chariot.

Duryodhana was beside himself with laughter thinking what a fool Arjuna was. Duryodhana asked for all of Lord Krishna's military power. All His armies, weapons, generals animals and chariots.

So we all know how that worked out.
