CABINET MAKER X #20 Curved Skirting Board Part 1
Welcome back woodwork fans,
Today's commission is some curved oak skirting boards
They are for a conservatory I made which has a angled walls and the plasterer has curved the internal plaster work.
The client already had the straight lengths of skirting made previously by someone else. Therefore I must match the moulding exactly to the existing.
The main issue is that the moulding was made with custom cutters on a spindle moulder which I do not have. I do have two router cutters that will be used for part of the process but the rest must be hand carved.
I have been supplied with full scale drawings and I will copy the curves from these drawings.
I use tracing paper to transfer the shapes on to my piece of oak , making sure I am very accurate.
In the next part I will be band sawing the curves and sanding them to the correct shape.
I am constantly trying to improve my posts, videos and presentation.
I would welcome any feed back on any of my content.
