Replaced the Nexus 5 battery
My daughter is using my Nexus 5, and she uses it a lot. It's an older device but it still works well, other than fairly bad battery life. I remember when I used it I could get about a half day on it. If it was a weekday where I'm in the office or working on my computer, it wasn't a big deal as I had a wireless Chi charging plate that kept it topped up. But that's not how kids use their devices, so it was time to replace the battery.
I purchased a battery replacement kit from Amazon, which included the tools to take the phone apart. The process was pretty straightforward, there are many demos on youtube (I guess I should look for these on d.tube now?) that show the process.
It worked fine for a couple days, then started into an endless loop of restarting just before making to the home screen. I'm not sure if this was caused by the phone (it might have had a bad/sticky power switch) or by the new battery.
