Louisiana: Senate votes expanded access to medical cannabis Image Source: [im ...
The Louisiana Senate this week adopted a proposal to expand the state's medical cannabis program.
Bill HB819 would increase the number of patients eligible for medical cannabis by allowing any doctor to prescribe cannabis treatment.
Above all, the proposal would remove a restriction that currently requires physicians to seek specific approval to recommend cannabis. The bill also adds nine specific conditions for which a doctor can prescribe medical cannabis.

While it's a (small) step forward why should we need a government permission slip to be able to enjoy the proven benefits of a plant. Alcohol and tobacco kill and sicken scores of people but if you don't have your magical cannabis permission slip you can end up a criminal. We live in a fucked up society.
