My @DLive Content Management Introduction!

Hello @DLive community,

I’ve been seeing a lot of new users on @DLive with introduction videos. I wanted to join in on this but instead of a personal introduction blog, I thought I would do a Content Management introduction. I will also answer some of the frequently asked questions that I receive on Discord.

Who am I?

My name is Jimmy Lin. I am 29 years old (turning 30 this year). I am the Content Manager for DLive.io. If you are interested in learning more about me personally, you can find my Steemit Introduction blog here.

What is the Content Management team?

The main focus of the Content Management team is to reward quality content creators.
Curating content takes up the majority of our time but we do have other functions within the team that would probably bore you to death so I won’t mention it.

Who’s on the Content Management Team?

Currently the Content Management team consists of 4 people including myself. @imjohnnymills, @cheaky and @r3mr3m. Between the 4 of us and some help from other DLive team members, we are working around the clock to curate your live streams and videos.

Why haven’t I seen any of you in my live streams or videos lately?

In the early stages of DLive you might have seen us comment frequently in live streams and videos but we’ve had to stop because we didn’t want to get flagged as bots, but that doesn’t mean that we aren’t watching. We still do comment here and there, just not as frequently.

Why haven't I received an up vote?

Our team is working around the clock to manually curate content, and as much as we would love to give every single person an up vote, every single time, we simply can't. We do our best to reward all the original content authors but if you haven't had a vote in a few days, don't let this discourage you. Keep up the great work.

I received an up vote but why is it less than someone else’s?

I would like to be as transparent as I can with the community because @DLive prides itself on being community driven and we are proud of the community we have built so far, but unfortunately I can’t give out details on how our voting matrix works. The reason behind this is, as a content viewer, I want to actually see how someone’s live stream or video is, rather than someone putting on a show, knowing that I am watching. What I can tell you is that we are trying to be as fair as possible when voting. We have set different categories and we score each live stream or video on them. In the end the % will even itself out, where you might lack in 1 of the categories, you could be absolutely killing it in another.

It excites me to see how much DLive has grown in the last few months. Our community is amazing and we hope that the community views the DLive team this way as well. If you’re not already on Discord please join us. We have a Community team that’s managed by @kassixo and it is the best way to get a hold of the DLive team.

I would like to write blog posts more frequently so if anyone has any ideas on something DLive related or not, leave it in the comments below.

Thanks for reading everyone!
Jimmy

Hi @jimmylin!!
Thanks to you and to all the content management team for the job you are doing all days. It must be fun to search original content, mostly with this Dlive evolution!
So keep it up, but take a little time to train Fortnite.. :p
Bye!

@imcore thank you for the kind words. It is fun to be apart of something with so much potential during these infancy stages of the product. I can't wait to see what happens. Oh man... fortnite... I'm so bad but I'll keep at it.

Thanks for your post @jimmylin! As someone who is new to Steemit, I appreciate the introduction to DLive. This is very helpful. I look forward to checking it out.

No worries @laurawhite, I guess I should have maybe put a quick snippet of what DLive is. Sorry! I hope you do check it out though :D

This is actually a great start! Thanks again~

Hey @jimmylin, nice post, I was wondering on how everything was going and how you decided on who gets what.
Do you guys change the percentage on Streamers that have more variety rather than just gamers or do you reward persistence rather than inovation?

We've set it up so it doesn't matter if you are streaming games, music or creative content you will most likely score the same! We don't currently award streamers on the variety of content. So if you're into gaming, keep gaming! If you're into singing or playing an instrument, do it! The only thing we won't reward at this time is copyrighted content or content that is re-streamed from another platform that does not belong to you.

Cool! Thanks for the reply man, it's great to know this because I've been worried that I might be going stale doing only one type of stream, I can relax a bit more now haha

yeah not been seeing much love on some of my posts so presumed you guys had vanished or were just overloaded. just to get a post like this is nice, thanks man, means a lot! :)

@teamhumble how can we forget the original gangster tutorial maker on DLive :D We have not vanished at all. We can go with overloaded but we are managing.

awesome. good to know you guys are out there and connecting with the audience, if there is anything that is needed for the site for tutorials and stuff let me know. wanna stream live daily but have a few more bits to get yet before i can! peace!

I can't wait to see your live streams!

thanks man! :)

Evil Geniuses eh? impressive :-)
also thanks for your DLive content!

A long time ago..... :P Thanks for the kind words.

nice set dude :)

Thank you!!

It would be good if i know if something wrong or bad with my streams but it is nearly impossible to get upvote from content managers nowadays... Even an advice if there is something wrong... I don't even know if my stream is bad, sound is bad, laggy etc...

Thank you

Hey @curtaintwitcher, the best way to check your own stream is once you are live, open up a new browser and go to your stream to view the quality. I have seen users on Discord asking others to check the quality as well, so that is another option. 1 vote in 3 days is not that bad, we will generally look at days and not how many broadcasts.

Unfortunately not 3 days... 12 streams in 5 days and 1 upvote. And I don't know that 1 upvote was accidentally or not? I couldn't believe that i received an upvote lol.

Of course Dlive doesn't have to vote our videos or streams. I just wonder what's the problem while lots of streams getting the vote. I think i need another account and maybe i have to stop posting with this account. I started to think that someones doesn't like my username 😊

Or never mind, thank you @jimmylin, have a nice day.
