Is Your Content Interactive – Or Plain Boring?

You’ve probably heard one of the latest buzzwords doing the round on the internet marketing circuit: everything these days has to be interactive. It’s no longer enough just to have a neat website that acts as a brochure for your business, or even just content on your offsite marketing that delivers something for people to consume.

Now you want to get people up and engaging in real time with you. Essentially, what that means is polls, quizzes, calculators, assessments, interactive infographics, white papers people can play with… all that good stuff that’s time-consuming to make that gives you great results in spades.

The Content Marketing Institute, AKA the guys who know quite a lot about this kinda thing, unveiled a survey recently that showed an incredible 81% of marketers agreed that interactive content was leagues ahead of static (regular, non-interactive) content.

That’s all that matters – getting the conversion rate in. And in terms of this metric, you simply can’t beat interactive content. Not only can it help to tailor the user experience, it’s also full of valuable gold dust data that helps you to pinpoint exactly what your audience needs and tailor your services and products to that in future. Try getting that out of your next 400 word blog post.

It’s also a great way to keep up with the demanding schedule of constantly publishing stuff. That blog post can easily become a slideshare, a video or an infographic. You could go the whole hog and make it a quiz, an infographic, or an assessment. One article, many iterations.
