How To Be An Awesome Webinar Host
Webinars used to be a kooky thing that few people did, but as with so many video-related internet endeavors, it’s rapidly becoming the best way to reach out to huge audiences and get sales. Much like real-life seminars, you can use them to boost your authority and of course get more leads.
Better yet, there’s software out there that make them insanely accessible from smartphones these days. You might not want to make the switch now, but trust me, you’re letting a lot of potential money slide down the drain.
First, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got the right software – one that allows you to deliver your presentation in the way you want to, while staying online (i.e. no kinks and downtime to frustrate your audience) – I personal recommend GoToWebinar, as its familiar and known, and also incredibly awesome.
Your presentation also needs to be structured. You can’t just jump right into the pitch – you need to offer value. I recommend a 4-part approach: Introduction and agenda (10%), actual presentation (70%), sales pitch (10%), and Q&A (10%). This structure lets you get everything in that you want to do while also encouraging interactivity and giving attendees a structure to follow – and try to make it no longer than 45 minutes if possible.
While sticking to the value point, dangle a carrot to keep people online. Offer a free product, or even prizes if they stay until the end. The whole key is to get people to buy what you’re selling, which means you want their time – giving them a potential reward for their time is the best way to keep them online.
These are just some basic tips – but if you watch any webinar, you’ll see they’re the golden rules for a good presentation: don’t neglect them on yours!
Indeed...these are golden rules for representation, and they are highly valuable.
