1- What do you understand by Savory Appetizers?
What I mean by Savory Appetizers is a delicious appetizer, usually served before the main course. Savory Appetizers are small dishes that are salty, spicy, or umami-flavored. The purpose of Savory Appetizers is to whet the appetite and prepare the palate for the main course. The main characteristic of Savory Appetizers is - they are usually salty, spicy, sour, and never sweet. Small portions are used for serving, bite-sized or easy to eat with fingers or a fork. The purpose of Savory Appetizers is to give guests a tasty start, awaken the taste buds, and set the tone for the meal. Examples of Savory Appetizers are: Spring Rolls, Mini Samosas, Cheese Balls, Chicken Wings, Stuffed Mushrooms, Kebabs or Skewers, Salsa Nachos.

Today in the Savoury Appetizers course, I will be sharing a meatball recipe. I have prepared all the ingredients needed for the meatball recipe.👇👇
Ingredients

Ginger paste | 1/2 tablespoon |
Chili powder | 1/2 tablespoon |

Finely chopped coriander leaves | 1 tablespoon |
Green chilies | 4 pis |
Finely chopped onion | 1 tablespoon |
Egg | 1pis |
Making meatball
Step 1:
- To make meatballs, I took 300 grams of boneless, fat-free beef. I washed and cleaned the beef thoroughly. Then I made mince with the help of a knife. Once minced, I put it in a bowl.

Step 2:
- Now I took coriander leaves, onion, green chillies for the meatball recipe. Then I washed them very well, cleaned them and chopped them finely. After cutting everything, I took it in a bowl.

Step 3:
- In a mixing bowl, I added chopped coriander leaves, chopped green chilies, salt, chili powder, red chili powder, chopped onion, and egg to the minced meat.

Step 4:
- I mixed all the ingredients very well with my hands. Once everything was mixed, I marinated it for two hours.

Step 5:
- After marinating the minced meat for two hours, I returned to cooking. Now I made small balls of meat and kept them in a bowl. I made all the balls with all the meat.

Step 6:
- Now, to fry the meatballs, I heated the oil in a pan on the stove. When the oil was slightly hot, I dropped the meatballs into the oil. The meatballs should be fried in the submerged oil.

Step 7:
- I fried the meatballs in hot oil until brown. Once fried, I drained the oil and placed them on a tissue to absorb the excess oil.

Step 8:
- The meatballs are ready to serve. I tried to give them a final look that I liked.

Chicken Satay : Chicken Satay is skewered chicken with a peanut dipping sauce.
Brushetta : A type of savory bread toasted with tomato, basil and olive oil.
Deviled Egg : Deviled eggs are hard-boiled eggs filled with a sour, spicy yolk mixture.
Shrimp Cocktail : Shrimp cocktail made with boiled shrimp served with a spicy-tangy sauce.
Patties : Patties which are flaky pastries filled with chicken or beef.
Falafel Balls : Crunchy chickpea balls served with tahini or yogurt dip.
The Savory Appetizers mentioned above are all delicious, tasty and bite-sized and are perfect for starting a meal.
4-What should be the right portion of serving of appetizers?
The correct portion of appetizers served depends on the occasion and whether the appetizers are being served before a full meal or as the main focus of the event. If served before a full meal, about 3-5 small pieces are a good serving size for one person. If served as the main focus of an event or party, about 8-12 small pieces are a good serving size for one person. Appetizers are usually light and bite-sized, just enough to whet the appetite, not to fill the stomach before the main meal.
That two-hour marination makes a big difference, especially with the fresh coriander and green chilies working into the mince. Deep-frying keeps them juicy, though I bet an air-fryer would do a nice job when you want a lighter plate. Your portion tip of 3–5 before a meal is spot on. With these, self-control is the real challenge. Do you pair them with a quick yogurt‑mint dip or something tangier like tamarind?
