Why Ford, General Motors and others are stopping general car production

in #automotive5 years ago

Ford, General Motors and other car manufacturers are deleting their main production lines. Why? For over 100 years Ford and G.M. have been producing many makes and models of cars, vans and trucks. Why are they announcing cutting back on production of vehicles with the exception of a few models? Well, it is because of their long term economic forecast data.

You see, they know that the middle class is disappearing. In ten years, there will be no middle class anymore. We are seeing the ever widening gap between the rich and the poor. The majority of the automobiles have been produced for and sold to the middle class. With that section of society disappearing, there is no more a need to produce vehicles for them. The car manufacturers are turning their attention to the remaining upper class as a targeted market.

You see, in the very near future the only ones who will be able to afford any type of vehicle will be the upper class. Another way of saying this is the 1% of society will own vehicles. The Ford Focus or Chevrolet Impala will not be needed anymore. All new vehicles will either be the 700 plus Horse power muscle cars/ sports cars or the high end 4X4 trucks and SUVs which will start at $60,000.00 or more. The car companies will be fighting over the market of the wealthy 1%. So you will end up with high end U.S.A car prices or the Lexus, Infinity, Acura, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Ferrari, Lamborghini and more.

What about the other 99% of the world's population? Well, the powers to be, wants everyone ushered into cities with public transportation, electric scooters or driver lees autonomous automobiles. They have started to prepare us psychologically with, Uber, Lyft, driver less cars, Tesla and Google cars, mobile apps to rent a scooter or bicycle etc. They want 99% of the population to not own a personal automobile unless you are the rich. Insurance, fuel, maintenance, taxes and more will make owning a personal car out of reach for 99% of the population. They want everyone hemmed in like chickens in a pen.

When will this go into full effect? I do not know. I do, however, see the trend. This makes sense why automobile manufacturers are making these long term decisions. I feel that soon, the day of driving out in the country with the top down enjoying a beautiful spring, summer or fall day is fast coming to a close.

Interesting point you took note of @jetblake

I have seen a lot of inventors that made driving free murdered and their ideas go with them. Heartbreaking to think that such sadistic bunch are in control.

It does seem to be heading in that direction.

I agree. I bet in ten years 80% of people will not have a personal car for their use
