Collapsing and Expanding Forums

A quick feature update to help customize your forums index on chainBB.

The preferences are saved to your browser so the next time you visit the page it will remember your selections.

While we're in the beginning with very few forums, this should be a suitable solution for users who just want to be a part of specific forums. Eventually, when we have enough forums, I'm planning on letting you subscribe to forums, much like you can subscribe to subreddits.

You have really done outstanding work on so many things I have always thought since I joined last fall.

Thanks again sir.

You're very welcome.

It's been a great privilege to work on the kind of things I enjoy, have an audience who enjoys my products, and even be rewarded for that effort.

Your work on here, with the things you have built for us, were some of the very first tools I remember seeing when I was a baby Steemian.

When I see your name, or comments, etc. I always remember that.

I am not an IT guy etc like many of you here, I just muddle along LOL

communities might just be the feature that deals the best with this. Each communities being forums in themselves. Then an easy to deploy "forum" using chainbb could spring forth thousands of chainbb on websites! :-)

Exactly!

I fully plan on integrating the forums with communities upon release. The permissions and configuration from each individual community would make an excellent forum, and then users could just specify whatever communities they want to be included in their forum.

It might actually be easy enough to make the site dynamic too, and if you visited chainbb.com/c/COMMUNITY_NAME it would just load the community without you having to set anything up. Of course, if you want your own domain/server/etc whatever, you can do that too ;)

ever thought about having an ICO to launch this as an official business venture?

It's something I've been giving some thought too, but don't have a solid plan at the moment. I have just been focused on the product itself and building prototypes for the foundational pieces the ICO rely upon. No idea why - not like any other ICO does it that way :)

Thanks for doing such great work, @jesta. So stoked about the value you've continually brought to the steemit ecosystem.

Heh, just wait until you see the next project ;)

Edit - I've been trying my hardest not to abuse the rewards pool and make "hype" posts, especially after my ramblings a few weeks ago in chat complaining about rewarding promises over action. So I'll shut up now lol.

It is looking good and I really like the expansion as well as the potential it offers for easy categorization and community building. Namaste :)

Quite a nice project. Especially bringing the forum to non-crypto users so that they can have discussion around their projects. Looking forward to use it and spread the idea in my local community.

This is very useful for a person like me who wanted to learn more and develop myself in crypto.

How to join? I could not find the register button.

There is no registration, it's all on the Steem blockchain, you login using your Steem account (account name + posting key).

Great work as always jesta. A year after and you are still going at 100% efficiency.
