My Past and Present Christmas

Christmas means for me, "Celebration of the Birth of Jesus", though there is no exact date written in the Bible. Celebrating Christmas since my birth is always with my family. First thing to be with is with them.

We used to celebrate at home. My father is always the cook chief in the family. I love everything he cooks and it is very far from the taste of expensive restaurant. I discovered his first recipe, his love.

But when I have my first job, I always treat them outside, which is my father's favorite bond.

This is our usual Christmas especially during Noche Buena. This is what I always long for every Christmas.

But today's celebration is the worst ever. We never celebrated it at home nor any restaurant. My father was admitted at hospital on December 20,2022 estimately before 11 in the morning. He undergone swab testing before admission. He was negative in COVID. He then proceed to other laboratories first in Complete Blood Count, then Chest X-Ray. It was found out that he has dengue and lung infections complicate more. Not to detailed everything, he died at December 21,2022 same time before 11 in the morning. The saddest part is its the birthday of my sister.

It is the saddest Christmas because we never woke up at Eve and just think of normal days having a rest after a long day of vigil. It is the Christmas where my father will be lost for our lifetime, and my brother is working far away from our region.

If only I had the chance to go back the time even a week before my father died, I would have to do over all health check for him. It maybe extend his life, that ends at only 54 years of age.

We will never be complete again. I cannot foresee another happy picture during Christmas day until every pain will heal.
