My day at play
I took this selfie before leaving my crib. I just got the shirt yesterday from the Salvation Army Thrift Store. ( got me B&D corded drill for $4.99 too)
I went to the Post Office, then made my way straight through Atlanta to the Downtown Connector (something I avoid like the plague during the week) I was reluctant about this today, as there was a major Tennis match (I think Venus was here) and I THINK there was some sort of comicon happening, but I'm not sure, but I expected to find those roads more congested than on a normal weekend.
The drive up I-85 went smoothly, with the usual slow downs at Steve Reynolds and Jimmy Carter Blvd.
I got to Brookdale of Lawrenceville with time to unload and set up.
(my van needs a bath)
I had to wait a little bit, for them to finish eating and clear out so I could set up.
I regaled them with my new and improved songlist, many tunes I'd never played for them before. In the three months since the last time I went to this facility, several of the Residents had passed. Sadly, but despite that, everyone without exception commented on how good my 'show' was, and the AD as I was finishing my pack down, repeated what I've heard so many times:
"Jerry, you are the only performer who comes in and decorates your keyboard before you play" I like to think it is a touch of class.
