"Last Night's Dream"- a real dream
[Some background].
The City of Atlanta is offering persons $10K, if they will move into, take possession of and rehabilitate an abandoned house in Vine City, which is a part of the Metro Atlanta, in the NW side of the city of Atlanta proper.
It is within spitting distance of the Georgia Dome, and the new Mercedes Benz stadium.
The entire area is filled with urban blight, abandoned buildings, high crime and drug trafficking.
This house is just off my normal route which I take to my post office, hence how I became aware of it.
The whole area was once a sort of ‘upper middle class’ neighborhood.
I first noticed the raw stone exterior, not fake stone, but real, stacked stonework.
The walls appear to be about 12-18 inches thick, as you can see in the next photo where someone had to bust through the wall to put in a dryer or heater vent.
There are no electrical wires coming to this building now, the side opposite this has significant Kudzu encroachment. On the backside of the building, is a ‘shed roof’ wooden addition, I would assume it to be a bathroom/laundry addition.
[And now, the dream.]
Since I had been unable to find any mention of ownership of this property, no tax records etc, I got permission to enter the premises, and along with a friend, we entered in through the front door.
It was as if we’d stepped through a time portal; the rooms inside, while in a state of mild clutter and disarray one sometimes finds when visiting older relatives who live along, it was in no way indicative of abandonment.
On the contrary, it had a ‘homey, warm and comforting’ feeling to it.
Not seeing anyone at first, we tentatively began looking around.
At the back of the room (as it appeared the entire building was one largish room) there were double closets, filled with old ladies clothing on one side, and men's clothing on the other.
Around the room, on top of various dressers and cabinets were books, photo albums, old newspapers.
A lone armchair was amidst this clutter, and when we turned back from exploring, there she sat.
A nice lady who was not in any way upset to find two strangers in her home. She actually welcomed us, offered us some tea.
She said she’d been alone there since her husband died, and she never went outside any more, since that time she’d heard a noise and found some young ‘hooligans’ stashing stolen (she assumed) items inside the crawl space under her house.
There had been some exchange of words, some ugliness, they threatened her but she gave them her ‘evil eye’, and the ran away in fear. As far as she knew they’d never been back. (the exterior of the house does have a sort of aura of spookiness about it.)
I asked her what year was this? When did that happen?
She was confused… she asked me what year it was now?
I told her it was 2017.
Her eyes flew open wide! She said:
“Oh dear me oh My! I really must be getting on now” and suddenly, everything inside became hazy and dimly lit.
Gone was the warm, cozy room, to be replaced by dark and dusty, stale smelling decay, wallpaper peeling, evidence of a roof leak.
No longer feeling welcome to snoop around, we fled the house.
We later found out that the woman who lived there alone after her husband had died, had died herself, after an altercation with some rowdy, lawless youths who had moved into the neighborhood.
She was beaten up, and crawled her way back up the steps, only to die in the doorstep.
People have avoided the house ever since.
And that... was my dream on the night of July 13th, 2017
Crazy dream!! ⛺
I was thinking about doing a dream journal....but it's all so personal. Last night I had a dream my ex step-dad exposed himself to him and told me he knew I wanted it. I was trapped inside a dream house with him and I couldn't get out. I was an adult in the dream, not even the young girl I was at the time I knew him. And he never did expose himself to me like that, although I did see him naked accidentally in the middle of the night as he used the bathroom once. I am still questioning the meaning of this dream as it pertains to my id in this time of my life....what could it represent? I figure it might mean I have some serious repression going on in my conscience life...who can ever be sure though.

I think it very well could mean that he did expose himself, or worse at some point in your childhood, him or someone else, and he just became the dream object of the memory.
This sort of thing is far more common that people realize.
i think it's more of a manifestation of something presently unaddressed...
Cool! I love having dreams that play out like a horror movie.
Well, I do NOT particularly enjoy fleeing down dark passageways, knowing that the horror chasing me is JUST behind me, nipping at my heels. That is my most common horror dream.
I also have very bad dreams in which I have to take a crap VERY badly, I mean like I'm about to Sh** my pants, and the only bathroom available is filthy, no doors on the stalls, no toilet seats and the toilets haven't been flushed and are overflowing with feces.
I usually wake up from that one having to go to the bathroom badly.
My third most common one is the abduction, I am awake in my body but I'm frozen, I cannot move. In one variation there is a slender female(appearing) figure standing over me, she has HUGE sad eyes, she's wearing a shiny, almost sequin looking green garment, with a matching skull cap. I am frozen, struggling to cry out in fear, but all I can get out is a muffle grunt, each time I make that small sound, she/it looks from my face towards my feet and back.
In another variation, I'm laying on a sofa, surrounded by friends and family who apparently can't see me, and I'm trying to call out to them, but again I'm paralyzed, struggling to move, to make a sound, any sound.
I hate that one.
I have a common dream theme where the toilet is almost impossible to access. Sometimes it requires climbing stairs set at an impossible angle, or climbing dangerous objects. Weird. I'm guessing we are experiencing anxiety and it's playing out. Although, it could be our brains helping us to not piss the bed too! I just wrote a post about a creepy experience I had if you like that sort of thing. Your post and the tv show I'm watching right now inspired me.
I told my urologist about this, and the fact that nowadays, after several events of "adult bedwetting" when I was extremely drunk (is that where the term 'pissing drunk' came from?) I'll dream about having to pee, (and if I do pee in the dream, it is bad new in reality) I'll wake up in a cold sweat, having to pee real bad. The sweat (to me it seems) being my trigger to wake up and GO

You just made me crack up with that Golem picture!!
