100% SALARY INCREASE FOR SOLDIERS!

in #steemph8 years ago (edited)

The Philippine government is fortifying its defense, encouraging young heroes to take part in a noble profession, as peacekeepers of the country. One of its remarkable effort is by increasing the salary of soldiers by 100%.

I am a teacher and definitely not part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, I just created this post to reach out possible individuals who have the passion for this and might want to take the opportunity in serving the country.

This is probably the best time for those Filipinos who want to be a soldier, you will be earning this decent amount of salary and at the same time a hero in our country.

Taking a job to fight for those who cannot, serving the country first before oneself, risking their lives just to keep the peace. This is indeed a heroic act.

Thank you for the post. I will resteem this. The military profession is quite dear to my heart as some of my relatives were part of the armed forces. If I had not been an IT professional, I would have been in the army or navy.

You're most welcome!

I live in a very military-centric area of the US. And though I don't really follow the geopolitics or military situation in the Philippines very closely, I know that our military people speak highly of the Filipino military and often have a lot of nice things to say about the Philippines and Filipino people in general. And that we hold the position that any attack on the Philippines will be treated as an act of war against the US. At least that's my understanding of where we stand.

I hope it isn't rude for me to ask, but I'm curious. Is there a particular threat that has gotten worse for the Philippines? I would imagine that the situation that we're having with North Korea has probably spilled over into your country. Or maybe China is getting overly ambitious and getting uncomfortably close? Is there a sense that there's a fairly probable threat, or does this seem more like a strategic move to discourage any future problems?

Again, I don't want to be rude here. If this is a sensitive topic please disregard the question. Thanks, I hope you guys stay safe.

No offense taken, and thanks for the concern. This has nothing to do with external conflict I guess, as far as I am concern being a citizen here, and not so much with internal security as well. This is more like the current administration is trying to improve the lives of public servants here, because its been over decades that the armed forces and the police here are just getting a meager salary, the government is even planning to increase the salary of teachers as well, and they are already implementing programs that will increase the net income of all workers by remarkably reducing taxes. I am one of those who will enjoy the zero(0) income tax starting this month of January 2018 and moving forward. :) hiring more peacekeepers is also an effort to reduce the high unemployment rate here at least in my perspective. Thanks for your interest to this post, I highly appreciate it!

Glad to hear that things are good. I hope that tax cuts and increased spending works better for your country than it has for ours. We went from having record breaking job growth, economic growth, record low poverty, and budget surpluses that were paying down the considerable debt that the previous administrations ran up with tax cuts and increased spending to having multiple trillions of a dollars in extra debt, huge budget deficits, job losses, increased poverty, and war over just a couple of years with tax cuts and increased spending!

Then came recession, and more war, and we only narrowly averted sending the world's economies into depression. And they were only able to pull that off by saddling the future generations with so much debt that even their great-grandchildren will be working to pay it off. We have over 20 trillion dollars in debt. The entire Earth's gross annual production is under 76 trillion dollars. Our debt is equal to more than a quarter of the world's entire annual gross production, lol.

You are quite thoughtful about this kind of topic. You would probably become one of the best author here in #steemit! for things like this. Glad to meet you.

Haha, that's very kind of you. And it's nice to have met you as well.

That is great news for those who serve and protect the citizens, they deserve a fair wage for their sacrifice. More income means more $ to spend around within their communities, it could help much more than military personnel in the end.

Thank you for dropping by! You are absolutely correct! they just deserve it.
