"Travelling. It leaves you speechless and turns you into a storyteller."- IBN BATTUTTA

On my first travel blog, I had featured the Cave Classification of Bulalang cave which is located in Sitio Bulalang, Barangay Dalipuga, Iligan City, Lanao Del Norte, Philippines. It showed an untouched beauty of a God's given gift.

Now on my second Travel Blog, I will feature another wonderful scenery that can be found at Barangay Dalipuga, Iligan City. It is what I call "The Stairway to Heaven". It is the Ten connected falls that are really worth to be on your bucket list including small falls that are also beautiful. I will also show you the struggles that we had just to see "The Stairway to Heaven".

THE ROAD TO THE STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

The path is not that bushy so it won't give you a hard time in hiking.

It will only take you more or less fifteen minutes of hiking to reach the first stairway which has no name. Let me just call it "Boboy Falls" since that's the name of my friend who guided us til' the end.

"THE BOBOY FALLS"

It is the very first falls in The Stairway to Heaven. It's not really a falls because it looks more like a basin. It's not deep so it's okay for children to swim here.

You have to climb this before you can reach the second falls.

The second falls was named "Dalipuga Falls".

"THE DALIPUGA FALLS"

It is the second falls in The Stairway to Heaven. This is where the people usually swim because it is the nearest to the community especially to those who bring their kids with them. It has a cave under the big rock but it was damaged by the storm. The path to the next falls is on the right side. You just have to climb there and walk for more or less 5 minutes.

"THE KAWA FALLS"

The Kawa Falls is a small falls. "Kawa" means a big frying pan. It was named Kawa Falls because of its deep water.

There is also a "tubod" or a natural drinkable water source on the kawa Falls.

I also saw a different kind of living organism at the Kawa Falls.

A small frog

A big spider

After a few meters of hiking, we also found another source of natural drinkable water. It tastes good and really fresh.

Before we reached the next falls, we saw a very discouraging scene. We saw cut trees that can be used for making furniture. It's just so sad to see because they are disturbing the nature. maybe it is also the reason why the presence of living organisms in this forest is decreasing because they are being disturbed by the people.

The next Stairway to Heaven is the "Star Apple Falls" because it is found under a star apple tree. It is not that big so it's nice to take a deep in it.

"THE STAR APPLE FALLS"

We found another small falls after the Star Apple Falls. It has no name so I named it "Deep Falls" since it's really deep. It is really deep so I strongly suggest to those who do not know how to swim to never try in jumping to this mini falls.

"THE DEEP FALLS"

After a few meters of hiking, we reached the "Long live Falls". It is somehow big. This is where people usually eat because it is spacious. It is not that deep so it's okay for non-swimmers to dip in here.

"THE LONG LIVE FALLS"

Since we reached the Long live falls at high noon, we decided to eat our lunch there. We placed our food on a banana leaf. It was really tasty because we were eating bare hands.

You really have to climb on the Long live falls if you want to proceed to the next falls. It is really slippery so take an extra care in climbing.

There is also a small falls above the Long live falls. It is not deep and it is under the shade of trees so it is a good place to relax.

Just a few meters of hiking from Long live Falls, you will reach the "Bahi Falls".

"THE BAHI FALLS"

Bahi Falls is really nice because it has a naturally formed tub and the falls is like a slide so you can slide in it especially if you are wearing jersey clothes. It is the best place to take a dip and have a rest. Only a few people can reach this falls because it is already far from the community.

The next falls is the "Pampam Falls".

"THE PAMPAM FALLS"

It was named after the owner of the land where the falls is located. She was known as Pampam, an old woman who has a mental disorder. You will know that you already reached the Pampam Falls with its Skull-like design. It is not that deep so you can swim here if you are a non-swimmer. There is also a cave under it.

Before reaching the next falls, you will see a small and deep falls.

After a few meters of hiking, you will reach the "Kalubihon Falls".

"THE KALUBIHON FALLS"

This falls has a cave under it which is really not advisable to non-swimmers because the water on the cave is really deep. You can walk on the path at the right side of the falls to reach the other side of the falls.

The next falls is the last falls. It is located on a Falcata Plantation.

But before reaching it, you will see first a mini stairway to heaven. It is really amazing because it really looks like stairs.

As we were on our way to the last falls, I noticed that my watch was broken. It is not water resistant and I forgot to remove it. I am a bit sad because it is the Christmas gift of my nephew.

And finally! We reached the last falls!

"THE IPO-IPO FALLS"

"Ipo-ipo" means tornado. It was named "Ipo-ipo Falls" because this is where the tornado landed during the "Typhoon Sendong" that flooded Barangay Dalipuga. It was really mesmerizing which is a total opposite to the story behind its name. The water is really clear because not all people know that it exists since it is the farthest of all the falls. I guess it is the longest falls and the clearest water. It is the smallest but never the least when it talks about beauty.

Just give based on the effort that they gave in guiding you. Just leave a comment if you want to visit so I can privately message you the contact number of my friend who guided us with our journey.

WILL YOU GO BACK?

YES! Of course! I've been here for a couple of times already. Aside from it's free, it is also accessible. So I strongly suggest this on your Bucket List.

Definitely, Iligan City Philippines is the "CITY OF WATERFALLS". The Stairway to heaven is definitely a Bucket list-worthy. Just make sure that when you go here, you would be able to see all of the falls and even the small falls. Everything is really worth capturing for.
