Hello friends of Steemit I hope that this is good, yucca has become for the Venezuelan our daily bread in this time of scarcity, although food is obtained in truth they are at very high prices and yucca is the most accessible to our pocket , we have learned to prepare many things with her that I assure you that before we had no idea.

We only used the yucca when we were going to boil on Sundays to join the family. When the corn flour that we used for our arepas disappeared, we started making cassava arepas and from there on we prepared many things, both sweet and salty.

The recipe that I share today the yucca is the protagonist, the recipe is just an idea and the filling is placed to your liking.

Ingredients:

  • 2 kilos of yucca
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tablespoon of salt
  • 1 spoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ cup of wheat flour
  • Stuffing chicken, meat, fish, tuna, vegetables or the filling of your choice.

Preparation:

Peel the yucca and cut it into pieces, cook it in boiling water until it softens, remove it from the water and before it cools, make it puree. Add the beaten egg with salt, sugar and butter, spread half of this dough on a table or table slightly dusting with flour.

Place the dough in a slightly greased mold. Pour over the filling, which must be cooked, cover it with the rest of the dough spread with the rolling pin and a little flour, in the same way as the bottom. Close the edges with a fork and make two or three cuts to the top so that steam can escape, while cooking. Bake at moderate temperature until golden brown on top. Serve hot, but let it cool for 15 minutes, in the container, after it is removed from the oven, so that it loses excess heat and is easier to cut and serve.
