For God we are like Oysters and Pearls

"And they will be a special treasure to me," says the LORD Almighty, "on the day I act; and I will forgive them, like the man who forgives his son who serves him. "
Malachi 3:17 (Reina-Valera 1960).

Imagine for a moment that we are some oysters that live on the bottom of the sea, with barely the conditions necessary to survive, that we are exposed to many dangers in those depths, and that from one moment to another we are injured or attacked by strange particles with the that we are not accustomed to dealing with, that is to say those situations that forge us to create in us things that we never imagined and much less that we would be able to do. We still have the capacity, we do not use it so that everything works in our favor, but on the contrary we let the tests overcome us, because the difficult situations God created them to get the best out of us; That is when we understand who we are, for what we have been called, and when we know what our function is on this earth, only then can we turn any grain of sand into a beautiful pearl.

The process of forming a pearl occurs when dirty particles (a grain of sand or a parasite) enter the oyster and stay there, then this oyster internally its shell is covered with a substance called nacre. Once that dirt inside the oyster is detected, the nacre cells begin to cover that grain of sand or that dirt, with many layers of nacre to protect the oyster, and as a result we obtain a precious and valuable pearl. There are different types of pearls, they vary in size, shape, color, brightness, but no matter how different they are, they all have a great value.

God made everything perfect, who was going to think that of a little showy mollusk and that a simple and insignificant grain of sand, was going to become a beautiful, radiant and valuable pearl. That only proves once again that God did everything with a purpose, nothing escapes him, then even better will be the plans he has for us.

Therefore, instead of letting ourselves be intimidated, what we should do is to give our best, to take out that mother-of-pearl we carry inside, which incidentally serves to protect us from what wants to harm us. We must follow that example of the oyster, that the obstacles do not determine our situation, and much less our end, but on the contrary we face them and we are the ones who determine not to let ourselves be harmed by anything.

We wrap all of love, even people who always try to hurt us must be covered with love, that person can become, change and become better every day, to become a great pearl, because you get much more with the love that With force.

Of course, the process of forming a pearl does not happen overnight, it takes time, according to research it can take months to years, obviously depending on the climate, temperature and the type of oyster.

Perhaps someone who does not know what is inside is a simple oyster, it is like a person who does not know what is inside and does not consider himself worthy, maybe he is underestimated by his appearance or his abilities, we do not know the heart of that person , which is much more valuable than a pearl, it is just that not everyone is given the privilege of exploring and valuing it.

We star in the two roles, that of the producer oyster (carrying the message of Christ, Helping the sheep to be formed and that they manage to give the best of them) and on the other hand we are valuable pearls, because we are a product that a God that surrounded us with his love and that every day we put a layer of love, peace, mercy, forgiveness, healing and that every day gives us a strong and hard coverage that protects us and changes us from what we were before, are roles that we can carry out daily.,

So let's analyze, what are we producing ?, let's not be mere empty oysters, who do not know with what end he is in this world and therefore he lets himself be destroyed by everything that comes to his life, without producing anything; or on the contrary, although we are not perfect, we must consider ourselves pearl-producing oysters.

The pearl of great price is Jesus.

Jesus suffered pain. He was persecuted. It was mocked. They beat him and nailed him to a cross. Jesus suffered pain! He suffered pain but was not offended. The children of God are not offended (Psalm 119: 165). The children of God do suffer pain when confronted by iniquity. On the cross, Jesus expressed his attitude toward those who offended him in this way, "Father forgive them because they do not know what they are doing." Jesus turned his pain into a pearl. Christ became the pearl of great price through pain. "who, when they cursed him, did not answer with a curse: when he suffered, he did not threaten, but commanded the cause of him who judges righteously" (I Peter 2:23).

beautiful message, worthy of using it as an example of a preaching of my congregation. In addition to the beauty of a pearl, its hardness also characterizes and shaped in the oyster.

Thanks for sharing.

very beautiful and enriching message, that well as you feed us with your reflections, many congratulations and blessings @jenniferbrito.

This is a beautiful message. More wisdom and grace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ
