Ray Kurzweil is a famed futurist and inventor and someone who has introduced an idea called the Law of Accelerating Returns. This idea might be one of the most important introduced in several generations because it allows us to wrap our minds around the sudden and explosive changes just on the horizon.
In short, the rate of technological change is picking up the pace, effecting all sectors of society and transforming the human experience within a decade and a half. More on that in the video.

No problem! If you're thinking about checking him out, I'd recommend buying his book "The Singularity is Near" or watching the documentary on him, Transcendent Man.
