Pascualina la costurera // The seamstress Pascualina✂️👗💇‍♀️ An original short story by me for @sndbox & @celfmagazine Contest

in #storytelling6 years ago (edited)

Pascualina barely made a living as a seamstress, she was very poor and always lived complaining. One night she lay down to sleep and between sobs she begged the gods: "Please, turn me into cloth, so I can go to all the kingdom's parties wearing a princess and everyone will admire me as the finest fabric in the prettiest dress! - And the gods heard the humble appeal that came from the bottom of his heart... The next day Pascualina woke up being a delicate and beautiful cloth. The seamstress took it and began to place patterns on her while marking with a slice and chalks and punctured her with pins. "Oh no, please, no more!" Thought Pascualina. The seamstress took the scissors and when she was about to cut Pascualina the cloth, she was horrified again imploring the gods.. - Help me please! I can not stand being fabric anymore, turn me into thread so I can still go to the parties among the fabrics. And the gods fulfilled her wish. The next day the seamstress took the thread and threaded the needle, then began to stitch and cut the thread with her teeth. -¡Oh, not poor me, they're mutilating me, this is torture, help please, I do not want to be a thread anymore, I want to be the needle!- And the gods made her a needle. At dawn the seamstress set out to do her work, sewed and sewed all day with Pascualina the needle happy to be the one who punctured the fabric and commanded the thread. At nightfall, the seamstress put the needle Pascualina in a sewing box at the bottom of a drawer. Pascualina went dark as fear took over her more and more until she felt some legs walking on her, it was a spider, Pascualina who was afraid of the spiders began to scream all night and beg to be turned into whatever other thing to get out of there, until she began to see the rays of light that fell while the seamstress opened the drawer in the morning and seeing that hand thought, "Please gods, I want to be that powerful woman who comes to get me out of here!" And so it was that Pascualina returned to be a seamstress.
