Sending The Young Learners To A Free Training in Cookery | Chain of Goodness Event | SteemWomen Club Community

Hi Steemwomen Club!

It was just an ordinary day when I stuck at some photos as I was aimlessly scrolling through my phone's gallery. I was reminded of the good days, and I couldn't contain it within me. These were the moments too kind and sweet not to be shared.

I felt so blessed that my students had received a scholarship from a prestigious vocational institution wherein they were offered a formal training in Cookery for a couple of weeks. Covered also in the scholarship was their daily allowance throughout the training period. And who would not like that?

There were 25 among my 45 students who received the scholarship. It was really unexpected, but lucky and blessed we are to have been chosen as one of the recipients of the scholarship program among the Senior High schools in our place.

The students were very happy as it was also their first time to experience such privilege - free training in Cookery + daily training allowance.

On the training days, they had prepared a number of hot meals. And I got here some of their pictures during the training.

The training took 2 weeks to cover all the competencies that were to be assessed by the training center. After which, the students were sent to an assessment wherein they were to do the tasks given in accordance to the competencies that were asked for.

And so, a lot of preparations were done.

ASSESSMENT DAY

It was a Saturday, my rest day from work, supposedly. But, I chose to spend it accompanying my learners to the training center for their assessment.

The assessment center was almost a 2-hour travel from our city. So we convened at the terminal at around 5:00 in the morning since their assessment was scheduled to start at 8:00.

It was on this day that I've seen them very uneasy. Perhaps, they were tensed enough thinking if they could successfully make it to pass. So, while waiting for a public transport, here's how they did.

In the training center, on the assessment proper, the learners prepared hot meal sets with flavored rice, a vegetable side dish, and a protein-rich course. Here are some:

The assessment took 3 hours - 30 minutes for the orientation, 2 hours for the dish preparation, and the remaining 30 minutes for the interview.

With all the support and prayers, our young learners had successfully made it! They are now National Certificate holders. Hooray!

Who would have thought that a single act of kindness from an organization where we haven't known even one from had given bright light to these youngsters' dreams? Now? They have landed a good job and excel.

Indeed, a simple kind act can go a little farther than what we've envisioned.

That's all for this post. I hope you have fun. See you in the next one. Stay tuned folks!

To conclude, I extend my warm thanks to @steemwomensclub for your effort to make this community a wonderful avenue for everyone, and to @steemcurator01 and @booming accounts for your overwhelming support to my writings, and everyone's as well in the community. MUCHAS GRACIAS!
