This is I with Cybil of @trydaily on the resort's hanging bridge. We look so minute in the vastness of the place.

Good Day Fellow Steemians!

Let me take you away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and lead you to the coolest resort in Balamban, Cebu. Balamban has become the home of a number of captivating attractions in Cebu where JVR resort belongs.

JVR, The Island in the Sky resort is also known as Sky Moutain Resort. It is located along the Transcentral Highway that traverses from Cebu City to Toledo-Tabuelan-San Remigio Road, Balamban. It's a resort that's sitting on top of the mountainous portion of the place.

Let's take a tour around.

JVR "Island in the Sky Resort"

Gaas, Balamban, 6041 Cebu, Philippines

We left the city of Cebu at around 10:00 in the morning and arrived at JVR at 11:00 am. It's an hour travel upland.

This photo is taken during the travel up way to the Island Sky Resort.

The fresh air, the cold breeze, and the picturesque view of the nature are what welcome us along the way. As we go up way higher, the temperature lowers, thus giving us a colder sensation. So better bring something like sweater that would give you a little warmth. There's really so much to enjoy in an one hour travel up to the resort.

This is the road to take going to JVR. It's a twisty road.

The twisty road up to the resort is a thing that have to be dealt with carefully, so it's advised to limit your speed in driving, all for your safety. Nevertherless, this gives a thrill to our road trip way up and down. Well, traffic is least experienced in Balamban street, but still, limit speed, and take extra care for this twisty road.

At The Resort

The entrance and exit gate of the resort

This is just through this gate that one can get in and out of the resort. As you enter the resort, there's this little hut at left side where to hand the entrance fee and other fees needed. Now, let's start touring around.

The colorful hanging bridge

The hanging bridge meets everybody at the entrance. It's actually one of the major reasons why tourists look forward to visit the place. Like most of them, I also get excited as I see these colorful wooden bricks hanging several foot from the ground. Crossing this multicolored bridge will lead you to another site of exhilarating adventure like the cable cab ride which I failed to experience due to a very foggy day. Well, the bridge is somewhat a good site to capture the panoramic view of the mountains.

Capturing the tourists from the left side view of the bridge

Midway down the bridge, it sways to and fro, which absolutely adds a kick to one's JVR hanging bridge experience. Crossing it with the cold breeze against your face amidst this very captivating aura of nature is like feelin' a piece of heaven. But it does not end here, it's just the start. So, let's keep walking.

It's a foggy day! We're heading our way down to our room.

Upon reaching the endline of the hanging bridge, the grand stairs way up and down welcome us. In this area of the resort, one can have the majestic view of the foggy sceneries around. And since our room is sitted lowland, the gang has to move more or less 50 steps downstairs. For our group, to deal with stairs is a bit struggle. It's literally taking one's breath away. But there's no other way around than take this stairs painstakingly. On the other hand, it's a best leg exercise.

Way upstairs! Another shot going up.

Along the stairs, are some of the Pine trees that scattered in the resort. As we go way up, these pine trees always sprinkle their shade. These are best viewed from downstairs. Now, let's go get roofed in the resort's barkada room.

This is one of the resort's barkada room accommodation. Ours is just sitted lowland. Shoutout to @travelwithkez for this photo.

The room has 3 double decks of single sized beds. We're eight in a roof. The room accommodation is just spacious enough for our number, and with me are @trydaily @travelwithkez @nerissappc @chevercide @aileen and @capturedbyink, the success chaser and diligent people of PTB.

The left side view of the room from downhill

The location of our room is somewhat a good spot to witness the enchanting setting of the sun, and the stupendous foggy mountain while feelin' the moment as your hair sways to and fro, and as the skin's hugged by the frosty breeze.

Here are the spectacular sceneries from here:

GOLDEN HOUR - The setting of the sun

The forested mountain

Got exhausted with the wonders of the resort? Let's take a break and feed our growling stomach.

This is @aileen, whose one great talent is making fire.

It's 5:00 in the afternoon, and everybody's busy preparing for the dinner. Preparing the group's meal this way in a mountainous place is an opportunity of stepping back to the days when people were not yet so manned with technology, and just accomplish things manually effortful.

Grilled hotdog and oyster - The group's all time favorite.

In mountain and forest escapades, grilling is the most convenient and easiest way of preparing food. There's not a need for more cooking implements. You just need smoldering coal and the food item to be cooked.

Fueled up with food? Let's now continue touring the resort.

JVR's swimming pool

This frosty cold swimming pool is situated downhill, nearby our room. As expected, the pool is really freezing cold that most cannot handle dipping for a longer period of time. The high altitude of the place makes it hard for one to feel the scorching heat of the sun even in noon times, how much more if you're grabbing a taste of this pool.

Let's go way up higher.

20180210_171242.jpg
The swings - Let's take a ride!

Taking a seat in these swings while enjoying the mystifying view of the surrounding is such a best form of relaxation. With the aid of of the cold weather, contemplating and reflecting on things is way perfect.

Piece of Advice

  • When you're into stay in the resort for a couple of days, bring enough supply of food and water, and other necessities like medicine and more. There's not many neighbouring stores where you can just immediately buy the supplies that you need. However, there are more cafes outside where you can dine in for food, but if you're on a budget trip, better bring with you the supplies that you need.
  • Bring sweater or anything that can give you warmth whenever you can't handle any longer the coldness of the place. The temperature in the resort is like that of Baguio's.

That's it friends! I hope you do have fun!
