It's no doubt that this community is growing wide at a very wild rate; just like the harmattan fire, the news of a platform that rewards you for blogging and sharing quality articles has gotten to virtually every part of this planet #steemit.
Now every tom, dick and harry just pick up their mobile device/pc and hit www.steemit.com and sign up for free.
This is not a ponzi scheme or a primarily money generating platform, so do not sign up for the sole purpose of making money.
Quickly, i want to list some points you should be aware of before/while on steemit.

  • Take time to study about steemit:
This is a mistake i made and i would not want someone else to make the same error. There are alot of tutorial videos on youtube and articles online that explain steemit in details, also you can meet those who have spent quite some time here and they know a lot about steemit and make good post that teaches about beign a better steemian for advice and info before jumping in. There is good video tuturial with the link below if you are interested
  • Learn about blockchain and cryptocurrency:
I'm also a culprit at this so you can safely say that i'm talking from experience; i joined steemit with little or no idea about blockchain trading and crypto currency. It was so bad that i did not even understand steem, steemdollar steempower and how they operate and i know that a lot of newbies here have the same issues. So take this advice from me; do research on crypto currency and blockchain.

Create good articles: Like i said before, since steemit is free every tom dick and harry signs up without having any idea of what they can do/offer in the community that is valid and quality. My candid opinion is that you discover what you can offer and create a trademark for it so stwenian will be able to find your articles. I'm also trying to create my trademark in the writing section with a brand symbol that will be at the bottom of this post. Also you can see that someone like @gringalicious has created a trademark for herself in food/kitchen section. Don't be "jack of all trades, master of none".

  • Use the right tags on your post: Creating a good post is lovely but putting it in the right section for the right viewers to read and upvote is another factor to put into consideration. Do not create a post about 'science' and tag it 'poetry' or 'sports'. You can check the popular tags we have and know where your post fall in.
  • Read post before making comments: This is one thing that so annoys me about newbies on steemit. Alot of them do not read posts all they do is look at the topic, view the photos attached and make comments like "thanks for sharing", "upvoted please visit my blog an upvote my post also." some even post the link to their irrelevant articles on people's comment section which is not nice. On steemit upvotes are given to those who are worth it and not those who beg for them. If you are wise enough you would make good comment that can also earn you upvotes.
I HOPE YOU WILL TAKE YOUR TIME TO READ THIS BEFORE MAKING ANY COMMENT.
THANKS FOR READING. DO RESTEEM FOR ALL TO SEE AND LEARN.

get ready for the second edition of steemiancrushwesnesday (scw) tomorrow.
I can't wait to share my crush with you all.
STAY BLESSED.
